Description for Mercedes-Benz SL-Class 1983

My 1983 380 SL (3.8L V8 w/ auto trans) that is approaching 103k miles. I bought it in March, and I'm the third owner. I planned on keeping it for a long time (one of my favorite cars, in my favorite color, from my birth year), but life is relocating me to the west coast. I brought it straight to my mechanic for an oil change and just to do a general safety inspection when I got it. He thought it was a great car, and added it had fresh brakes and a relatively new exhaust. Carfax was clear of anything suspicious/worrisome. It was in Texas/Oklahoma before my ownership and has very little rust on it. I'd call it a very good survivor/driver example of the car. It's basically been my daily driver since I got it, and we made a handful of trips to the beach (~120 miles) in it. Starts right up every time, runs smooth, and hasn't given me any major issues. It's definitely not perfect, though, and has a few wear and tear things that should be addressed at some point. It's mostly original with original paint. I was told it spent it's life in garages, and that seems to me to be true based on condition. The paint is in good shape, but does have 100k miles of chips, a few light scratches here and there, and is a little cloudy on the front passenger quarter panel. I've replaced the rear sway bar bushings (common failure point for this car) and rebuilt the hardtop release mechanism. The original head unit was replaced with a Pioneer cd player before my ownership. The front driver seat has a tear in it (pictured) and appears to have been reupholstered at some time. I was informed it had "ice cold a/c" when I bought it, but I can't get it to blow cold and haven't tried to source the problem. There are a few cracks in the wood grain near the window buttons and on the dash, which is fairly common for these cars. Sun visors are missing. Both headlights have cracked lens. Driver side came to me that way, passenger side was clipped by someone passing me while I was parking. Both can be seen in pics. I didn't have a second person to take the top off for picture day, so I've also included a pic from the auction I bought it from to show the soft top. It's in good shape, but some of the glue seams are coming undone. Door locks work intermittently. Very fun car to drive, and it fits me like a glove, but it must go before I move next month...so NO RESERVE! Clear title in hand. Feel free to reach out with any questions. Happy to help with shipping arrangements if needed.
