Description for Mercedes-Benz S-Class 1990
First off, I'm not a dealer or a reseller - just an owner and enthusiast. Secondly, this is NOT the six-cylinder SEL. I can't imagine how they get out of their own way! The is the 5.6 liter V-8. What else is there? Detailed 20+ year maintenance history, with documents for 40 service visits totaling $20,000, an average of about $1,000 per year. The second owner, an MVP quarterback in the NFL, put 70,000 miles on the clock from 2000-13, performed at least annually by an authorized Mercedes Benz dealer. Current mileage sits at 153,000 miles. I am the third owner. I have racked up 40% of this car's total mileage - 65,000 miles - in 5+ years, primarily on a once-weekly, 200-mile round trip highway commute. I'm a stickler for regular preventative maintenance. Tires, battery, tune up's, rear suspension accumulators, brakes, all fluids, steering box, timing chain/rails/sprockets, and NOS driver's side window regulator come to mind during my ownership, over and above normal preventative maintenance. Is in need of a replacement a/c compressor at present, which gives the opportunity to upgrade to modern R134 refrigerant. Photos show miniscule rust where right rear quarter panel meets wheel well trim, and minor scrape to right rocker panel, apparently from a yellow curb stone. Local auto body shop quoted me $500 for repair. Beyond that, the car is in tremendous condition. This is my first Benz, and I've just replaced it for a newer S-Class model. It still feels solid as a bank vault. The 560sel was the top of the line for the famous W126 chassis, widely regarded as one of the last Mercedes lines built with no regard to cost. The first choice among CEO's, government leaders, other kingpins, and Mercedes enthusiasts worldwide. A true automotive masterpiece penned by Mercedes' famous designer, Bruno Sacco.
