Description for Mercedes-Benz 300-Series 1991
1991 Mercedes 300 E 4-door SedanDescription
Offered for sale and bidding on eBay by its second owner is a 1991 Mercedes 300 E sedan which was loaded with features when new, including: a strong 6 cylinder 3 L gasoline Engine, Air Conditioning, AM/FM Radio with Cassette,Front Windscreen and Headlamp Washers, Fog Lamps, Anti-Lock Brakes, Driver and Passenger Adjustable Electric Seats, Cruise Control, Driver Airbag, Power Windows and Locks, Leather Seating with Suede leather on the Door Panels, and a Sun Roof. This vehicle was originally purchased by the current and second owner in 1996 from a local Carlsbad, CA Mercedes dealership with 26,876 miles on the odometer at that time; the vehicle odometer now reads 164,419 miles. Overall, the vehicle has been meticulously cared for; the interior is in “show-roomâ€condition, while the exterior exhibits no rust and little abuse. All window glass, chrome pieces and interior wood accents are in Mint condition! The original spare is in the trunk mounted on the original “as-new†rim. The original User Manuals are available to the new owner. This gorgeous automobile has been homed in San Diego County since 1996, and as the photos attest retains its show room condition.
The owners are looking for a Buyer who would like to purchase this vehicle to restore for personal pleasure use. Once it is restored it will serve as an excellent freeway vehicle. Currently, the vehicle is being sold “as is, where isâ€.Components of the vehicle that may need attention include the following:
Transmission: The transmission currently allows operation in only the first and second gears, so the vehicle is not now drive-able on public roads.
Engine: The 3 L engine starts easily and still exhibits good power. The engine did pass a CA smog test less than 2 years ago on March 7, 2018. The # 6 cylinder just passed a recent compression test while cylinders # 1 – 5 exhibited high compression readings.
Other operational issues:
Radio: The radio is not currently operating.
Climate Control: The fan control buttons that support this system do not seem to function properly, however the heater and air conditioning are working fine.
Fuel Gauge: The reserve warning lamp for this gauge does seem to function properly; the gauge can be erratic at readings above empty.
