Description for Mercedes-Benz 300-Series 1970
This is a 1970 Mercedes Benz 300 SEL 6.3 I picked up in Los Angeles recently. A long time sitting off the road 300SEL I had visions of getting it up and running and keeping it. But I will never get to it. Before I part this out for like 5 times more than selling it complete, I will see if it sells complete. The car has rust, The previous owner primed a lot of the body . He said to seal the body from any any more rust. He sprayed a lot of the chrome, glass, moldings, lights, emblems, etc. I got most of the glass and some of the chrome cleaned off a bit. But this car needs a full paintjob. Original white car with grey primer . Original dark blue interior in not bad shape. The door panels are very nice. Some of interior wood, not so much. The dash has cracks. As does the windshield. The outer chrome is actually pretty niceThough the rust is not. There is rust bubbling here and there. The rear trunk is not bad with nice inner corners. Rockers are not bad. As are the floors. Some small rust at the front jackpoints and other areas, This car has rust, but not terminal and should be able to be repaired. The lower rear doors have rust thru on the bottom interior. So this is tough one. It has rust. It has some dents. It needs a full paintjob and bodywork. On the plus side the drivetrain is in nice shape. The bumpers and grille are in nice shape. All 4 hubcaps are in nice shape also. The previous owner told me he had it at a repair shop. Where they did work to the air suspension system to make sure it was in working shape. But something or other happened and the owner drove the car 10 miles back to his place not too long ago. And said both engine and transmission are in great shape. He also said the shop kept a air tank. After getting it over here to Arizona, we jumped the dead battery, sprayed starting fluid into the intake and it fired right up with that. But have not run it off the tank as I have no idea what is in there and do not want to run it until that is checked. This is a lot of car for the money.. These 6.3 are getting harder and harder to find in any shape., especially what this one is priced at. Clean straight title.I travel around mostly the West Coast and might be able to get it to you or close for reasonable money. I can arrange shipping to Long Beach California shippers for export for $300 no problem .I get over to CFR Rinkens, Shumacher, etc quite often. No bidders with less than 10 feedback unless you contact me first. No games. No bid then have to ask the wife. Basically,no BS.500 deposit within 24 hours of auction end. Balance within 7 days
