Description for Mercedes-Benz SL-Class 1982
Up for auction is a very fine example of a 82 Mercedes Benz 380SL. I just purchased this car from a gentleman that was relocating. It's was in his family. driven on the weekends and garage kept since the mid 80s. The car is exceptional shape and drives as good as it looks. The car is whisper quiet going down the road and stops on a dime. Mechanically the car seems very sound for being 33 years old. The A/C gets cool but not ice cold and I did notice the power antenna doesn't seem to work. Other wise everything works on the car like it should. I have documented service history included with the OEM manuals up until 45k miles but since the previous owner said the car was serviced independently and not recorded. There is currently a sticker on the windshield showing it is due for an oil change. The dash is free of any warning lights. I'd give the exterior a 8 out of 10. There's some light scratches here and there and a few small door dings. The most noticeable damage is on the hard top near the windshield. It looks like the hardtop was maybe mishandled and dropped on the area. It still latches on and seals up perfectly with no leaks. I did not pull the hard top off but the previous owner did notify me of a tear in one of the quarter windows of the factory soft top. There is absolutely no rust on the vehicle. The Interior is a sold 8 out of 10. The leather is in great shape other than a rip in the drivers seat. (see photo) The wood and dash look perfect other than a couple of cracks behind the shifter. The original Becker tape deck is in tact and works perfectly. The carpets are in good shape with no big stains or tears. The car has rear jump seats and seat belts. I believe the seats are factory but the seatbelts have been added aftermarket. Bid with confidence and please if you have any questions feel free to call. Thanks!Cliff 321-436-9523
