Description for Mercedes-Benz S-Class 1984
Hello everyone. up for sale is my absolutely stunning 1984 Mercedes-Benz 280SE. I am the third owner of this amazing car. The first owner was an officer in the air force. and purchased the car while he was stationed in Germany in 1984. After his tour was over. he had the car brought over to the states. He owned the car for quite a while. after which it was purchased by a wealthy car collector up in Pebble Beach. I purchased it from this owner. Car has been in California for all but the first two years of its life. It has remained an unmolested California car. absolutely no rust. has never seen snow or been driven in any harsh weather! Car has either been garaged or put under a high quality car dust cover its entire life. I have continued to take great care of her just as the previous two owners have. It is in truly great condition for its age. although it does have some wear here and there on the body. with a couple minor dings. Overall though. it is in remarkable shape. and the paint still shines quite nicely. Interior rise. the car still looks and smells great. Non-smoker car. The dash is completely clean. other than one small crack near a vent. The wood trim does have some cracks on it in specific areas. Cloth seats are in great shape. there is some wear on the driver’s side bolster. and a penny sized hole in one of the rear seats. Other than the Kenwood radio changed by the previous owner. the interior is completely original and takes you back in time to the 80’s. She’s a very comfortable car. 4 adults can ride her in absolute serenity as the tank like design keeps everyone secure. The car is equipped with the nearly bulletproof 2. 8 straight-6 engine. She runs like a champ. Mechanically the car is perfect. she literally starts right up every time- people are amazed at how well she runs for a 30-year old car. Also. all electronics work- including the moonroof!. Only issues are: sometimes the ABS light turns on. and the brakes could use a service soon. Air condition blows cool. but not as cold as I would think it should in California summers. The AirCon unit was upgraded to the R134a for better cooling. Keep in mind this car is completely Euro-spec. except for the headlights which the original owner was forced to change when the car was brought to California. Car still has the original Euro bumpers (much better looking than the U. S 5 MPH bumpers. Euro interior. Euro warning triangle in the trunk. Euro-required fire extinguisher beneath the driver's seat. and Euro exhaust (although I was still able to get the car passed here in California a few months ago. so you should have no problem getting it smogged in your state. ) I also have paid the registration until the very end of the year. I have the clean California title on hand as well. Included with this classic car is the original spare tire. medical kit. and tool kit. The car only has 150k miles. has been driven sparingly by me. Furthermore. I recently had a tune-up done on the car. having replaced the spark plugs. spark plug wires. car fluids. among other things. This car is a fine example of a true survivor Mercedes-Benz automobile. perfect for the entry level car enthusiast or collector. This is a very rare car to be seen in the U. S. as it is a grey market import. the 280SE was never offered for sale here in the states. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. and I'll be glad to answer them for you. Thanks for looking. car is being offered at no reserve! Good luck on the bidding!P. S. eBay did not recognize the vin # when I inputted it. because there system cannot detect grey-market imports so they told me to put all 0's to bypass that section. The correct VIN # is: WDB1260221A052701. I can also email the Autocheck report in PDF format for those interested. just let me know.
