For sale - 1988 Mercedes Benz 560 SL. Everything is original. including the paint. interior. soft top. hard top. and wheels - Even the First Aid Kit. As you'd expect for a car of this quality. it's been maintained by the book. As you can tell by the name. this SL sports a 5. 6 liter SOHC V8 torque factory engine. the largest displacement V8 ever installed in an SL. With 226 horsepower and more than 300 pounds of torque. this engine. when properly maintained. as this one has been. is virtually indestructible. It's extremely clean under the hood. and close to factory correct. right down to the hose clamps. The 560 has a 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission and fully independent suspension. The exhaust system has been replaced with an original type muffler. The original-correct alloy wheels carry right-sized 205/65/15 Michelin radials with plenty of life remaining. The exterior color is Diamond Blue with a navy pinstripe. navy interior and navy top. It's been meticulously maintained. There are no body dents. as you'll see from the pictures. This car has only had two owners. averaging just 4. 00 miles per year for 25 years. It's been well maintained only by Master Mechanics. and I have all service records. including the previous owner. The original factory-applied Diamond Blue paint looks great. The chrome is excellent. the emblems are bright and crisp. and the grille is unmarked. The dark blue leather interior is in excellent condition with only the most minor signs of use on the driver's seat cushion. The airbag steering wheel was a first in the 560. The fully functional gauges should look familiar to anyone who has driven a Mercedes-Benz. This vehicle is equipped with climate control which has been converted to R134a and blows ice cold. as well as cruise control. power windows. mirrors and locks. I've installed a Blaupunkt BPV755 radio/CD with extended range speakers. The original Becker Grand Prix AM/FM/cassette stereo is in a box in my basement. The dashboard and center console have real walnut. The trunk is outfitted with wall to wall plush blue carpet. just like the interior. and includes the full tool kit and spare tire mounted on a wheel identical to those on the ground.
