Description for Mercedes-Benz 300-Series 1983
I have used this vehicle as a daily driver since January 2012 when it was purchased used locally in Central Missouri. The vehicle has minimal rust -- there is a small patch about quarter-size on the drivers side front wheel well but that is all. Jack points are solid and rust free. The front hood clear-coat is peeling but the rest of the paint is fine. I have driven this vehicle 45. 00 miles in three years. reliably using it for weekly 240 mile round trips to St. Louis from Columbia during summer 2013 and summer 2014. I have driven it to Chicago and back during 90-degree July weather twice. and once last winter when temperatures were below 0-degrees Fahrenheit. In both extreme weather conditions. the vehicle ran beautifully with no over-heating or performance issues. I have performed substantial work on the car. The interior and dash are in good shape. The windows all work. Cruise control works. It cruises comfortably at 75 to 80 mph. The front chassis components have all been replaced as have the rear brakes and front pads. all within the last 20. 00. As listed above. the vehicle also has a new master cylinder and cooling system. four-light rear brake light upgrade. and new heater control valve (OEM). Currently. the vehicle will not pass Missouri inspection without a new exhaust down pipe from the turbo housing. I replaced the exhaust and muffler two years ago. so this is the only exhaust component that needs attention. Other issues include a small crack in the rear-windshield which I purchased new and installed in 2014 after the original windshield was shattered by an errant foul baseball during a local college game. The rear-windshield seal is also new. though I did not reinstall the trim. I have the trim if the purchaser wants it. In addition to the car I have the following spare parts and tools:Spare injector set (5)Valve adjustment wrenches (Hazets)Heavy-duty jumper cablesVoltmeterJack StandsNew center bearing and driveline flex joints (current flex joints are fine; bought these on a massive parts order)Two Bosch oil filtersInline and spin on fuel filterAn array of wrenches (if wanted)List of maintenance and replacements performed since Jan. 2012:Front brake padsRear brake rotors & padsRear brake calipersMaster cylinderRebuilt injectorsRetimed IPIP gasketRegular valve adjustmentsWater pumpRadiatorCoolant reservoirMotor mounts and ShocksHeater control valve (OEM)Control arms. The vehicle is priced with no reserve. It is available for local pickup or we can make shipping arrangements or something. I'm flexible. Contact me if needed.
