I'm a R129 W126  Mercedes enthusiatist. Engine tranmission interior and the exterior including  the softtop are in excellent condition. V12 engine of this time was made to last 'forever'  with such low engine wear rate and perfect structral balance and ratios unlike  the V8. It was not just 4 more cylinders to get more power. The 94' SL 600 is the pinnacle of the real  traditional quality Mercedes Benz before they have gone with electronically  managed major components and use of cheaper and inferior materials. Car shines like new.  No sun damage. No rust. All weather strip intact in excellent conditon. Used premium gas only.  Valves are like new. No check engine light. Automatic hydraulic  convertible top.Original soft-top in excellent condition. AC blows ice cold Smooth accerleration.  Power fully restored. Car has an aweful lot of power and is capable of accelerating endlessly. Clean high quality  wool interior 5 star quality  suspension Amazing handling Mechanically  bullet-proof engine & transmission.Many argue that the engine is the  best MB has ever built. Engine RPMs very low  - engine & driveline components' wear rate is very very low on this car. Convertible top stays  cool under scorching heat. Excellent design. I'm  meticulous about the mechanical condition of the car. I see that majority  of these cars for sale did not receive important upgrades and replacements. If you did't  know they are critical - regardless of mileage and overall appearance and the condition.  Otherwise the car of  this year is an excellent example of German made flagship Mercedes. Some of the things  done around 100-109K miles: All are new genuine  Mercedes parts including small bolt and bolt washers except for a couple that  are aftermarket that exceed the quality/performance of MB. new hood insulation  pad replaced center  console button with a new one. new sun-visor lid new sun-visor hinge  covers new trunk support  shocks new rear brake lense new tires with  extremely rare 2 piece Brabus rims. new  alternator(generator) rebuilt smog pump engine harness done  ($3300) - this is a must on these cars regardless of mileage and overall  condition. The issue happens with age not mileage and gets worse with heat new ignition coils  and wires set  ($2500) - this thing lasts a long long time and aftermarket ones are under  $1000. Along with many others old one lasted about 20 years! throttle wiring throttle actuator  rebuilt with heat resisting material new cam shaft sensors new brake pads new iridium spark  plugs - in average these last about 100k miles on engines with higher RPM rate. new throttle intake  rubber boots (a while ago) new air temperature  sensors new engine valve  gaskets new manifold seals  and gaskets new fuel filter new (updated) 2ndary  intake hose and pipe - Mercedes released an updated version made of aluminum  instead of rubber hose and plastic pipe that were used originally. This is one  of the power loss sources on these cars regarless of mileage and many people do  not know about this because it's sort of hidden underneath. new mass air flow units ($1000 each x 2) new k&n air filters new mobil1 full  synthetic engine oil filter plug and bolts. differential fluid  flush with premium lubricant new  seal(gasket)transmission fluid flush new transmision pan bolts filter  gasket new brake booster  lines new transmission hoses new oil cooler hose  and seals EGR system cleaning new EGR valve control  units x 3
