1970 Mercury Cougar XR7 Convertible. Only 1,997 XR7 convertibles were ever built in 1970, nd this one has been a California car it's entire life. I bought this Cougar 5 years ago and am the 3rd owner and have driven it about 3,000 miles. This Cougar was first sold at Dick Anderson Ford-Mercury in Madera, alifornia 93637. It then made its way to the Bay Area with the original owner and has been in this area since. It was originally Deep Gold Metallic. Interior is original Ginger with Ginger leather on front seats. Thisis one loaded XR7 Convertible as it was ordered with almost every option available. (See Marti report)

This car is all original except for 1 repaint some time in the late 1980's. Sequential turn signals work great as well as the rim-blow horn.Since I have owned the car, he following work has been performed:2010New convertible top, adiator, eater core (this alone was an all day job), hermostat, eplaced all radiator and heater hoses, ll belts, adiator cap, lushed and serviced transmission, lushed brake system, ew dual exhaust with Turbo mufflers, ew Firestone Firehawk white letter radial tires and alignment.2012New front suspension including upper and lower ball joints, nner and outer tie-rod ends, dler arm, pper shaft kit, way bar link kit, trut rod bushings, ew Monroe shocks, ull tune-up including plugs, oints, ondenser, otor, ap, lug wires, cv valve and fuel filter, ew battery, lternator and voltage regulator, ebuilt transmission shift assembly, epacked front wheel bearings.
Convertible top works great, witch works, ut button falls off. Replacement switch included with car.Cigarette lighter,left door speaker do not work.Headlights turn on, ut hide-away covers stay closed.This Cougar runs great and does not burn oil. I took it on a 700 mile trip last summer.
