Up for sale is a1960 Mercury Comet2dr RARE. 6cyl Manual Transmission. California car and has a CALIFORNIA TITLE. Shows 99,007 miles on the Odometer, ut the title shows exempt so we are not sure if this is original or not.

Comet is a very good candidate for a Rat Rod, aily cruiser, estoration, r Gasser

This Comet is a cool cruiser and gets a lot of looks at all the cruise nights and car shows and even took home a trophy this year.

Interior is all original and is a manual transmission 3 speed on the steering column. Interior is in very good shape for the year of this car and its originality. has some small blemishes. Door panels have some areas that need to be re-glued and the sail panels also need to be redone. Seats are in great shape and are even still very comfortable. No Radio, r heat in this car, t is a factory heat delete car being it was a base model in California. Car does have a spot for radio, ut was not in car when we got it.

Body is also all original. has some areas of patina, ut nothing major. Has a few dents and dings in the body and the passenger door has a spot of surface rust on it that was touched up a bit my previous owner. Chrome is all there and is in good shape for its age, oes have some small dents and scratches in it. Frame is solidwith no problems. Floors and trunk are also in great shape.

Engine is a 6cyl that runs strong and starts every time.Transmission is a 3 speed manual this is a 3 on the tree column shift. It is drive able, ut the clutch is going out and will need a new on before you could cruise it regularly.

This Comet would make an excellent car for either a Rat Rod, asser or cruiser project.If you are looking to get into the classic car scene at a reasonable price, his car is the one for you! We get more people stopping to talk to us about this Comet at cruise nights than we do with any of our other cars due to the rarity of it being a1960 Comet and was a 2 year only body style for Comet.

Due to the demise of Edsel, he Comet was initially released without any divisional badging, nly "Comet" badges. It was sold through Mercury dealers, ut would not be branded as such for two more years. In 1960, he only engine available was the 144 cid Thriftpower straight six with a single-barrel Holley carburetor
