Description for Mercury Coupe 1950
Hello Mercury fans.
If you have been looking for one of the nicest 1950 Mercury’s in the Country look no further. When you put 700 horsepower with an Aluminum Donovan De-stroked 477 Ci Engine under the hood with the Viper 6 Speed Manual transmission step on the gas it puts a smile on your face. This car will run on Pump Gas!! This beautiful Merc has over $160,000 invested in time and parts. This car won the Sacramento Autorama and the Fresno Autorama!!! The AutoRama shows are two of the biggest shows in California! This Merc has won just about every car show it has been in. The De-Stroked 477 All Aluminum Donovan Engine under the hood has over $40,000 invested alone. This Car has Not been Chopped.
This Merc is not for the faint of heart it has some serious horse power with 700 (Dynoed) horses under the hood. I was lucky enough to get a ride in this stunning car a couple of years back and let me tell you this, if felt like getting shot out of a cannon. If you are lucky enough to win this auction you will see exactly what I’m talking about.
If you are into head turners this is the car for you. When this car is out in the public it turns heads like you have never seen before. Everything about this Merc is beautiful the lines, the high dollar 3 stagepaint job it has it all. This Merc is a true California car. Have you ever been to a car show where someone fires up a nice sounding ride everyone gathers around that car just to here the engine run? Well this Merc is one of those cars. The beautiful sound that blasts out of the exhaust pipes is something words can not explain.
A complete 2 year restoration was completed on this car 7 years ago since then there has been less than 3500 miles put on the car this Merc is like new. I would rate the paint on this car a 9.5 out of 10 there may be a few flaws however I could not find them. This car is breathtaking to say the least.
Here is a brief history on this car. In 2005 the brother of a good friend of mine bought this unrestored 1950 Merc here in Northern California. He bought this car with the intentions of restoring her. In 2008 my buddy’s brother passed away and my close friend Wade Bozarth (Bozarth Kustoms) inherited this Merc. In 2008 Wade started the body off restoration on this beautiful car. Wade finished this car in 2010 then took her to the Sacramento and Fresno Autorama’s where it won both shows. After that it was taken to several other shows in California where it won just about every show it entered.
My good friend Wade Bozarth unexpectedly passed away last year and his wife is having me sell this one of a kind piece of art work. Wade was a local legend in our area. Almost everyone that is into Classic cars knows Wade Bozarth in our area. Wade was a perfectionist he cut no corners. Wades cars would stand out at shows. Wade has built some of the finest cars and engines out there and there are several engines he has builtstill running in Classic cars here in Northern California.
Just to give you an example of Wade's attention to detaillast year before he passed away I was visiting him while I was in his shop he was grinding a set of rings for a big block Chevy for one of his customers. He told me he spends 8 hours on his small ring grinder just to get the gaps absolutely perfect on a set of rings. I realize this info does not pertain to this Merc however it will hopefully give you an idea the craftsmanship and time that went into this car. Wade could not have finished this awesome Merc without help from other skilled professionals.
Steve Pattee a local Hot rod builder in Modesto California. Steve custom built the tube chassis roll cage and all the custom sheet metal and Aluminum on this car. The quality of fine work Steve did on this Merc is second to none. I would like to extend a special thanks to Steve for helping me with all the details on this car. I could not have written this ad without his help.
Almost everything on this car is Custom built and one of a kind. This is one of the finest 1950 Merc’s in the country in my opinion when you see her in person you will agree. I have looked down the sides of many Hot Rods in my time. This Car is the straightest car that I have ever seen. Wade told me that the body was gone over with a 4 foot board to get this car as perfect as possible.
I’m also selling Wades 1953 Peterbilt Rat Rod Custom. If you would like another example of Wade’s craftsmanship please check out my other Auction. This Peterbilt will blow your mind!!!
This car has so many goodies that I will have to list everything below. There is over $160,000 invested in this ride with about $40,000 to $45,000 in the engine alone.
I have over 100 more pictures of this fine automobile and a really cool Video of her running. If you would like to see more pictures please feel free to email me dsbad76@aol.com or Call me anytime 209-595-6680
