Description for MG T-Series 1951

1951 MG TD/C Mark II also known as the competition model.

Very rare low production car with only two owners, oth of which in the same family!

This car is a true time capsule into the sports car scene of the 1950's. With its hand rubbed laquer finish and equipped with all the goodies that MG owners seek and can only get reproductions of, f they are even available, his car has! This particular MG TD/C Mark II has won multiple concours d'elegance trophies in the 1950's and 1960's, ost notably at multiple Rallye Glenwood gatherings, nd still retains the high quality luster that it exhibited back then. Exceptional detailing, xemplifying the 1950s period sports car and concours touches abounds on this vehicle. From the machined metal finishing details on the dash to the exceptionally clean and detailed undercarriage, his car shows extremely well and drives like new!

The car has only 54,700 original miles. The transmission is tight, mooth and quiet and the suspension is perfect and drives with precision.

The original Jaeger chronometrictachometer and speedometeroperate flawlessly and accurately.

As seen in the photos, he badges on the badge bar are original non-reproduction items. The wire wheels are in exceptional shape (from an MG TF) as are the non reproduction polished finned aluminum brake drums. Lighting is exceptional with the Lucas tribar headlamps light the way, ut for those really dark nights, he Lucas (non reproduction) SLR576 "flame thrower"driving lights with no pitting or corrosion, nearly impossible to find in this condition) really cut through the night.

The only reproduction parts on the car are the Brooklands steering wheel and the MG Car Company door sill plates.

Don't miss your chance to own a very rare and truly fine example of British Motoring history!

This car was retored and upgraded to its current condition in the mid 1950's. As such, here are some minor imperfections in the paint. The top is in excellent condition but the plastic windows are yellowed. Out side of that, he car is in exceptional condition as it was always stored in climate controlled conditions. The vehicle has not seen weather of any kind since the 1950's! All the wood is in excellent condition. All body panels etc. are original. This is a numbers matching car, s evidenced by the photographs. This is a true TD/C Mark II car with the larger carburators, alves, otter cam, nd additional andrex shocks at each corner. The car rides on Michellin tires. All the original tools are included with the vehicle.
