Description for MG MGB 1972
I am selling my 1972 MGB Roadster. As you can see from the photos, his car has the clean, ncluttered look of an early MGB. When restoring this car, decided to make it look like an early MGB roadster with the reliability of the later models. My original plan was to do a V-8, onversion, nd the car is set up for this. However, he 4 cylinder engine in the car runs so well that I decided to keep the original drivetrain. I also added an early set of S.U.s, nd an early distributor. I put an extraordinary amount of time and work into this car: BODYWORK- I used a later MGB bodyshell that was in good shape. Entire car was stripped down and repainted inside and out. Chrome bumper conversion. Super clean, traight, ust-free. Great Lines. New side mouldings. New Grille w/Emblem. Rear bumper is 2 years old, ot perfect but nice. Front bumperand overridersare older and showing their age, ut still look nice.New Tex door mirrors.DRIVETRAIN- Engine has excellent oil pressure and compression, o all I did was regrind the valves and add positive valve stem seals. New head gasket. New water pump. New oil pressure sending unit hose. Runs great, retty quick for a 4 cylinder. Does not burn any oil. Transmission shifts fine through all gears, lutch is good. HYDRAULICS- New brake master cylinder, ebuilt clutch master and slave cylinders, ebuilt brake calipers w/new seals and pistons, ew ceramic brake pads, ew Cross-drilled rotors. New rear wheel cylinders. New braided stainless steel brake hose set. SUSPENSION: New black polyurethane graphite-impregnated bushings used on front sway bar, -Arms, eaf spring pads, ear leaf spring shackles, ar handles like a dream. Tires have about 5,000 miles on them, xcellent condition, ike new. INTERIOR: New red carpet, ew seat diaphrams, the dashboard had some crackson top, o I installed a newdashboard cap, ooks great.Interior panels are not factory, hey are cut panels, ut still look very nice and uncluttered. Dark red canvas top (expensive) . I also installed a new fuel tank and sending unit. I finished this car 2 years ago, nd put around 5,000 miles on it without any major problems. That being said, his is an older car so there are a few minor imperfections. Thepaintwork is excellent, ut is not concourse perfect.Still VERY nice. ( I have never seen a perfect car). The wire wheels are originals, nd do vibrate a bit at highway speeds. Thechrome knock-offs have a nice patina. The plastic window on the canvas top has some small scratches on it, ut the plastic is still very clear. The chrome headlight trim rings havea light patina. The leather surround on the steering wheel has some normal wear. Despite a few minor flaws, till is still a very nice, lean, traight, olid, ell-running MGB. I have tried to be as accurate as possible in my description of this car and will be happy to answer any questions. Please bear in mind that although restored, his is still a 40+ year old car and is being sold as-is, ith no warranty expressed or implied. I will require a $ 500 deposit via Paypal from the winning bidder, ith the remaining balance to be paid within 2 weeks. Pick-up and/or shipping is the responsibility of the buyer.
