Description for MG MGA 1957
You are bidding on a really nice 1957 MG MGA convertible.I bought this with the intention of restoring, ut I am now building another MGA race car instead. This car is in great shape, eeds Sill restoration, ut not a chassis restoration. Thechassis is in great shape, ill need some floorboard rails, ut that is about it. I have restored a few of these, o I know the difference between a rot box and a worthy restoration candidate. This car will need sills (rocker panels), ower rear fender doglegs, ront lower fender patch panels and B posts. The nice thing about it, s that the car is a runner. It could be put on the road with a little bit of work and could be a "rolling restoration". Carstarts up nicely, rives and stops. Shifts well through all of the gears, tops (four wheel drums). Engine starts with 70lbs oil pressure, oes not overheat, eady to be restored. This car was bought in Virginia, aving been in a barn for the past 20years. The previous owner bought it in the early 90s. He said that it had the "Shakespeare" dashboard when he bought it. He drove it back and forth to work in NY for about ten years and then someone backed into the passenger front fender. He took it off the road in the 90's to fix it and got as far as taking off the damaged fender and started to replace the rusted out lowerfrontfenders. That is where he stopped. I bought it with intentions of doing a winter restoration, nly to find a really nice MGA racer to put on the track. This car is a really nice car, nd has a good deal of character. I encourage potential buyers to come and look at the car, ome and start it, rive it, ut it up on my lift and take a look at everything. Thanks for looking at my auction. Feel free to call me directly if you have any questions. 703 244 9758. Title is clear, n hand. $500 deposit due within 48hrs of auction close, ull payment due within 7 days of auction close. Car does not leave my property until payment is made in full.
