Description for MG Midget 1972
1972 MG Midget - this is very nice vehicle
Engine has been bored .40 over with new high compression pistons, erformance street cam, ew tappets, RP fasteners throughout, ew timing chain and a valve job. Distributor rebuilt and recurved by Advanced Distributors, arburetors rebuilt by ACME Speedshop. Custom stub stacks with K&N filters. Pertronix ignition replaces points. It screams.
Cooling system in good shape and will run at whatever thermostat you put in.
Suspension has been sorted. New Kingpins, -arms, nd Poly bushings. Lowered (2") with stiffer springs in the front and blocks in the rear. VTO minilite style wheels with new tires.
All electrical works.
Top in very good shape. New windshield. New carpet. New seat covers.
Paint was put on in 2006, couple nicks from driving and garage. See pics.
This a pretty clean and pretty zippy vehicle. Sounds cool too. Lowered 2" and chrome bumpers (which I have but need re-chroming) removed it has a pretty tough stance compared to original. Definitely can be a man's vehicle. This is a great reliable driver and I would think is one of the nicer Midgets available in the state. It;s not a 10. Its definitely a great 8 or better. Please see last 3 pics for body and paint imperfections. There are typical chips in paint under grille. There is a ding on the top drivers fender (from bicycle handle bars) and there is a small bubble on driver side between drivers door and front fender. PO said it appeared within a year of painting it but it never got any bigger. Still same size as when I got it. I can get this professionally fixed for reasonable additional charge if interested. Body overall is very good +. Paint job is very good but not great.
Just replaced spark plugs, nbsp;float needles and seats, loat. Runs great.
PLEASE NOTE: Please be aware of what you are buying. This has a "ribcage" transmission. There are no syncros for 1st and reverse gears. This means to shift into first from a dead stop, ou shift into second then to 1st, hen let up on the clutch. It's just the way it is. Its not a big deal but you need to know. Very fun care to drive.
