Description for MG MGB 1967
NO RESERVE!! 1967 MGB Roadster Project. I bought this car in July 2015 with the intention of doing a complete restoration on it as I have done with 3 other MGBs. Due to a change in plans I have decided to let it go. I am the 3rd NJ owner of the car. The 2nd owner only had it for about a year and it was not running during that time. The car will come with it's Original BMC Passport to Service booklet showing that it has always been in NJ since new. When I towed the car home it was not running but I did know that the engine was not seized.I replaced the ignition switch (no keys came with car), nstalled a rebuilt starter, et up a temporary fuel source, nstalled a new single 12 voltbattery and after a few try's it actually ran, though roughly. Oilpressure is good and temp gauge is working, achometer works.Wipers, ights and horn work but front turn signal basesneed replacement. I even drove it back and forth in my short driveway and the clutch and brakes are functional for that much. I would not expect to drive this car home. I bought the car because it was so complete, solid and unmolested. While there is some Rust to deal with I have repaired much worse. I will include a full Driver's Side Floor Panel and Rocker Panel for the next owner to install. There is also some rust perforation at the side trim and top trim hardware locations, he drivers side front frame rail needs repair near firewall, passenger side jack point is missing and the passenger door needs replacement. I did address surface rust inside of the trunk by removing small scaly areas with wire brush and 100 grit then treated with POR15. I pulled the original gas tank but it does look like it is intact (not pressure tested). Car came with an after-market hard top and an original 2 piece convertible top frame and headerbut no soft top. I removed the existing carpet but do have most ofthe original rubber floor mats. The seats appear to have been recovered with black vinyl with white piping and look nice. Most of the interior panels were beyond repair. The original Banjo steering wheel is broken but a better (small cracks in rim)one is included. The steel dash needs refinishing.Paint appears to be original British Racing Greenand old body work is limited to the front of the alloy hood. If you have read this far you probably realize that this is a car that deserves to be back on the road.I strongly encourage in person inspection. If you have any questions or need more photos please call Bill, 32-778-3274 or send via eBay Messages. So if you are looking for an MGB Chrome Bumper Projectbid to win. Car is offered STRICTLY AS-IS, J Title is clear and in my name. Stored in my garage in Leonardo, J 07737and available for inspection by appointment. I do have a suitable trailer and transportation within 200 miles is possible for extra $$.
