Description for MG T-Series 1952
Beautiful 1952 MG TD Replica on a 69 VW frame for sale. This car is not perfect but pretty darn close. I've had it running for about 4 years and it runs and drives great. But I'm down sizing and just don't have anyplace to keep it so it's no longer practical.
I tore it down to the frame and completely restored and rebuilt the entire vehicle including the engine and transmission. All hoses, ines, inks, earings, rakes, tc. have been redone, eworked or replaced. I had the transmission professionally inspected and tuned.
1600 dual port VW engine with less than 1000 miles on it. (odometer only reads about 125 miles because it took me a while to get the right speedometer cable and I wasn't going to let it sit while I waited).
Tires are in great shape, ody is excellent and paint shines like a show room car. The paint job is a gel coat with multiple layers of clear coat that make it a joy to look at.
Plus, his is a 3 speed automatic which makes it incredibly easy to drive in city traffic.
It's not perfect, s I said so I'll list the things I still had on my list to complete.
- Gas gauge needs to be grounded - currently does not give a reading
- RPM gauge doesn't work - wiring needs to be looked at
- Shift knob from old VW frame came off - needs new knob
- No convertible top; but I have the frame
- Carpet was a quick fix to get it licensed - needs a professional carpet job
- Cover plate for inside door handles not installed - need very small screws (dang it if I didn't loose them during the build)
- Install electric fuel pump. If it sits for a number of days without running gravity drains fuel back down the fuel line and it takes a while to get it started. An electric pump at the gas tank will easily fix this.
