Description for MG T-Series 1953
Stunning, restored Right Hand Drive1953 TD.This TD has been completely restored and is in outstanding condition. It is a matching numbers car.
It was apparently owned by Loretta Lynn, the US Country singer for many years. (unsubstantiated)
It's recent life has been in Louisville, Kentucky where I have invoices for over $5,000 for the new seat, dash and carpet kits and their installation, complete tune up. In addition, some years earlier the brakes were completely overhauled and new suspension installed.
The overall paint condition is excellent with some expected nicks here and there from use but has a stunning appearance and is of show quality. The interior is new and is without fault. The doors open and close properly with no sagging - almost "new car" tight sound. The roof is new and the side screens appear nearly new and in great shape.
This TD starts on the button and sounds excellent with a very fruity exhaust note. A strong driver through the gears and stopswell.
Indicators have been installed and an unusual and tastefuladditional indicator light addedfor the rear indicator lights. All lights work as does the very loud horn and wipers.
The original British plate is still on the car. If bought in England, probable able to restore this plate.
This TD was really restored properly with many thousands of dollars spent. Attention wasplacedon many smaller details that are often missed such as chromed door hinges, premium oil filler cap, etc
The original radio is in the dash glove pocket and lights up. It may still work but have not yet traced the speaker wires.
This is a superb TD, one of the best around and would likely be a show prize winner for many years to come.
