Description for MG MGB 1980

There are not many better ways to enjoy a warm day than taking a traditional British convertible sports car down a twisting country road. This 1980 MGB is a wonderful foray into a time when the cars were elemental and pure, and the driving experience wasn't measured on a clock, but instead by the size of the grin on your face. The MGB is one of those cars that everyone loves to see because they know it's built for pure pleasure. The compact proportions are ideally suited for carrying two passengers, and there's no extra fat to steal performance. The taut bodywork is now an icon that is pure retro cool. The chrome trunk rack adds a bit of class and is something you'll find useful on your next weekend getaway. The white paint is a nice standout on this roadster. It provides a great contrast to the black bumpers, folding roof, and yes, even the tires. The color scheme is tied together properly with the black striping that runs the full length of the car and has MG imbedded right behind the doors. The full black interior looks great with the exterior color scheme, and that's exactly what you want because this car was meant for top-down fun (the matching tonneau cover really is a nice finishing touch.) This is not the kind of cushy interior that comes from a turnpike cruiser, but if you've read this far, you already knew that. Instead, the entire inside envelops the driver like a second skin. The space between the three-spoke wheel and the stick shift is exceptionally close for comfortable and quick performance. This entire interior feels quite original right down to great texture on the bucket seats. The driver gets a full set of gauges with a large speedometer and tachometer as well as dials for other vitals such as oil, fuel, and water. Power comes from a sprightly 1798cc four-cylinder motor. You'll be quite impressed how this one fires up thanks to a recent rebuilt (receipts included), and it even has been converted over to a Weber carburetor for an extra kick of power. With a sporty exhaust note and a willingness to rev, the engine lives up to its British roadster pedigree by offering a mighty experience in a small package. The sound of the powerplant, the slickness of the four-speed gearbox, and unmatched tight handling are some of this car's many virtues. There is a surefooted feeling on the road thanks to the iconic Minilite wheels with disc brakes behind the front set. This level of maintenance and smart upgrades creates a total package that makes sure there's noting to get in between you and the feeling of the road.Complete with shop and owner's manuals, the appeal of this roadster is black and white... literally. This is an affordable icon that's easy to maintain and even easier to love. When you see how clean the details are (from the trunk to the undercarriage), you won't believe the affordable price.
