Description for MG MGB 1979
1979 MGB 2dr Roadster: The affordable 1962-80 British MGB sports car was the first new sports car for hundreds of thousands of Americans and likely was owned by at least half a million because it had second, third and even fourth owners. A good number of MGBs are still around, mostly in restored condition. The MGB was the last MG sports car sold in this country. It was simple, rugged and fun to drive. As with all MGs, the “B” required minimal maintenance and could withstand considerable abuse. The MGB was fairly quick and could keep up with the Triumph TR4, which was another popular British entry level sports car. The MGB had a good ride and is fun to drive, with its sharp steering and adroit handling that have always been strong MG features. They are easy to drive quickly, especially on winding roads and even feel fast when you're going slow. This beautiful MG has spent all of its life here in Texas and retains an excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition. This MG was born in a boring white which was due for a repaint earlier this year. The owner decided that if he was going to pay for an professional repaint he might as well get a good result. The color choice he decided on is a beautiful turquoise that contrasts nicely with the new black top and the black interior. The MGB was also treated to new carpet, seat covers, convertible boot, and spare tire cover. She has always driven fine but the choice was made to also install a new Weber carburetor, gas tank, brakes, and an electric fan to keep her driving just a well for the next owner. The only TLC this MGB has is the solenoid to allow the factory overdrive to engage. Additional features and options include; Original 1798cc 4Cyl Engine, 4 Speed Transmission, Power Brakes, Cloth Floor Mats, Chrome Mirrors, Zip Out Rear Window, Tinted Glass, Chrome Exhaust Tip, Full Spare w/ Cove, Tire Tools, 14" Wire Wheels and new General White-Wall Radial Tires! As you will see from the video on our site and the photos below, this is an exceptional classic MG that can be purchased for only $9,988!
