This lovingly maintained and well-preserved 1979 MGB Roadster is the perfect addition to your collection if you are seeking a mechanically sound, exceptional performing machine that is as nice to look at as is it to drive. The Brooklands Green finish on the car (code BLVC169) is a refinish that was professionally done a number of years ago, yet still still maintains a glossy, slick, and clean appearance to this day. The car does have the minor blemishes, marks, and signs of aging from normal use and wear that one would expect on a four-figure car, but the vehicle presents astonishingly well, and still turns heads on the highway or at the local Cars & Coffee show. No sign of rust, rot, or disintegration is evident, and I have taken a magnet over the entire painted surface of the car and found no patch panels, or disrepair. The car has been treated to a Ziebart-type rust proofing at some stage of its life, as the plug caps around the car show. I think the rustproofing has played a major role in keeping the body of the car clean and free of rust and rot over the years. Typical light blemishes like stone chips, minor scuff marks, paint fragmentation and aging, and light debris marks are all that you will find, and the overall appearance of the car is neat, clean, and attractive. Side trim on the car is in remarkable condition, with only two minor indents to be found. The first is on the front left segment, while the second is on the middle left segment. I have highlighted both in the photos below, and you can see that 98% of the side trim shows to be in exceptional condition, far outweighing the two inconsequential marks. MG emblems located fore and aft on the car show incredibly well, with no damage or disrepair evident. Chrome cowl vent, side lamp trim, headlight rings, antenna mast, mirrors, door handles, and trunk lift all look fantastic, and belie the cars age. Headlight rock guards hearken back to the days when this machine may have been found cruising on European dirt roads. The car rides on black and bright Rostyle 14" wheels with Motif center caps. They are in average condition with no damage, and normal signs of use and age. They could easily be refinished to appear as-new again. The stainless polished trim rings show oxidation on them that may or may not come clean when you have the car detailed. They are wrapped in recent GoodYear INVICTA radial tires size P175/70R14 at all four corners. The tires show at least 70% of the USABLE TREAD LIFE remaining, and are damage and issue free. Rubber bumper covers have been refinished over the years, and show signs of aging, marks, and issues. As a upmarket driver, they are fine, but if you are looking to enter judged events, you will need to restore them. A new MG Experience convertible top was installed a few years ago, and still shows wonderfully. There are no rips, tears, or seam pulls on the top, and the 3-part plastic rear windows show only light marks from normal use and no fogging. It also comes with a matching full-length zippered cockpit tonneau that also presents in "as-new" condition, and is the perfect thing for Florida summer days when rain can start and stop in just 20 minutes! The interior itself is in very good condition, as you can see from the 100 EXTRA-LARGE photos. Champagne seats, door panels, and kick panels all look amazing, and there is no sign of any damage, disrepair, or issues with any of the hides. Carpeting is rich black in color, and shows to be in exceptional shape, with no stains, damage, or worn areas to be found. Dash is clean and full intact with no top cracks or fading. A prior repair was affected on the center front part of the dash a number of years back, and while it has done the job functionally, its finish is hardly up to the level of the rest of the car and needs to be mentioned. Center console is correctly attached, and opens and closes as it should. Same can be said of the glove box. A removable cup holder fits perfectly around the shifter, and simply lifts away should you not want to use it. A Kenwood KMM-108 head unit was installed and sounds fantastic in the car with the upgraded speakers. It has modern USB/iPhone/Spotify/Pandora/and AM-FM-CD capability, and charging functionality too. All of the gauges work and appear to be calibrated based on visual inspection. All of the warning lights in the dash work as they should. Headlamps, tail lamps, marker lights, indicator lights, and stalk mounted horn all work as they should. Emergency brake works as it should. Tri-bar wipers work as they should. The car shows 2,131 miles on the odometer, and while I am sure that car has more than that, I find it hard to believe that it is 102,131 based on the overall condition and performance of the car. The title shows as exempt on mileage, so only the car truly knows, and it isn't talking. The engine bay on the car has not been restored since new, and has been maintained regularly to be an on-demand driver for the prior owner. Although it won't win any prizes at the local AACA event, it is remarkably clean, and shows how well maintained it has been given the lack of oil seepage, weeping, gasket swell, or fluid stains typically found in other MG engine bays. The 1.8L BMC Austin B-Series 1798cc engine fires up easily, and settles to a clean idle awaiting your input. Snick the 4-speed manual gearbox into 1st, and you are ready to roll. Clutch take up is smooth and correct, and the car engages gear easily with no slippage or noise. Shifting through the gears is cleanly accomplished thanks to the super close ration transmission that feels like an extension of your forearm. Power is surprisingly good, and the car gives the illusion of speed even scooting around town. I have driven the car about 35 miles on a mix of highway and in-town roads, and I find it to be a remarkably well-mannered machine that is equally at home running to the corner store as it would be dodging semi's on the way to the next State. The trunk of the car is in great condition, and has an almost new carpeted liner throughout. Original jack and lug wrench are included, as is a matching spare, which is not shown because I forgot to put it back in the trunk before taking the photos! Chassis is quite clean, and shows no sign of rot, rust, or prior repair. Thanks to the light application of undercoating early on, the car has managed to not fall victim to the cancerous rust that claims so many MG's. All it shows is light surface oxidation, which quickly whisks away with a wire scuff brush. This is not a concourse level car by any means, but it is not priced in the $23,000 NADA high retail either. This car is a remarkably clean and solid machine that has been rigorously maintained and regularly driven. It has wonderful road manners and tight and sure feedback from the steering, brakes, and powertrain. If you are looking for a machine that performs wonderfully, shows beautifully, and captures the essence of motoring at a modest price, this car is for you. ***IF YOU NEED ASSISTANCE WITH WORLDWIDE VEHICLE SHIPPING - CALL ME! ***IF YOU NEED ASSISTANCE WITH QUICK AND EASY FINANCING - CALL ME! ***IF YOU NEED ASSISTANCE IN EXPORTING THIS VEHICLE OVERSEAS - CALL ME!
