Description for MG MGB 1972

Thanks for taking a look at my restored 1972 MGB Roadster V6. I personally completed the restoration over 2 years and am intimately familiar with all details of the project. The car has been driven 1,160 miles since I completed the restoration several year ago. Garage queen. The buyer will receive all project receipts and photos of the restoration process. I’m including some extra parts and several MGB manuals and books. Here are the details. Thanks for taking a look at my auction.

Camaro 3.4L V6 ‘L32’ engine built by Engine Lab of Tampa

Replaced all wiring with new Moss Motors wiring harness

New gas tank, sender, fuel pump, and all fuel lines

V6 conversion kit from Classic Conversions (Bill Guzman)

V6 fuel injection wiring harness conversion by BMC Auto

Borg & Warner T5 five speed transmission (freshly shimmed and serviced by Gearworks of Tampa.)

Sound dampening material throughout

Steel floor panels replaced with Heritage parts

New carpet kit

New vinyl interior kit (dash, door panels, back side panels, etc.)

New brake master cylinder, metal lines, rubber hoses, pads, shoes, and drums (all stock)

New wood steering wheel

Converted to 1969 bumper kit (originally a 1972 chrome bumper car)

New headlights and chrome surround rings (original tail lights, reverse lights – new bulbs, all work)

New ignition lock and keys

Soft top and seat covers were in good shape when I bought the car so they have not been replaced

Wheels had been painted before I bought the car, but I replaced the chrome trim rings

Stereo delete panel

Heater delete

Deleted side marker lights

New radiator

New cooling fan with thermostat power control

New battery

New tires

New VDO Speedo and tachometer. Temp, oil pressure, and gas gauge are original Smiths gauges

Replaced rear suspension, new springs, polyurethane bushings, new shocks, shackles, etc.

Front suspension rebuilt with new drop links, polyurethane bushings, ball joints.

Have new front shocks (not installed) that will come with the car

Plastic panels to hide components under dash (not installed) come with car

Notes:

Gas gauge has power but stopped working recently

Courtesy light in console is new but is not working

Temp gauge works but is calibrated for new engine temperature so needs modification

Rubber gasket around the windshield needs to be replaced.

Rear end has original gear ratio. Lots of torque in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd but it revs high over 75 mph so it’s most fun around town rather than extended highway cruising – unless you change the rear gears.

A restaurant valet backed into the front driver side fender. There is a poor repair you can see a split in the paint in the attached photo.
