Description for MG Midget 1976
The time has come to sell our 1976 MG Midget 1500 Special. It has been a great and fun car to drive. But we soon need the garage space for another car, so it is time to find a new owner! Anyway, this 76 Midget is the Special trim version with the chrome luggage rack, chrome wheel rings, and decals on the sides. The car has about 41,500 miles on it and all maintenance has been kept up on during our ownership. The engine runs great and the gearbox shifts smoothly. About a year and a half ago we took it in to a shop that is familiar with British cars and had some extensive work done including a complete rebuild of the front brakes, all fluids were changed, fan belt replaced, radiator rebuilt and new coolant hoses installed, choke cable repaired, all five tires replaced, new leather shift boot installed, wood rimmed steering wheel and shift knob installed, new brake master cylinder installed, and a few more minor items that needed to be done. Being a 40+ year old British sports car it does have some very minor oil leaks, but nothing that is needing any real attention. The suspension is also a little squeaky due to worn bushings and the age of the vehicle. However, a complete suspension bushing kit is included with the car. A previous owner also installed an after market exhaust on the car which is a bit louder than the stock muffler. Most importantly, there is no severe rust! A major plus when it comes to older British cars. The softop was replaced a few years ago and is in good condition with no holes or tears. The paint is original and therefore faded in spots and the previous owner touched it up on a few of the larger scratches. There are a few extra parts included with the car including new front lowering springs, front and rear suspension lowering kits, a complete suspension bushing kit, larger front sway bar, the original steering wheel and shift knob, and some other odds and ends.Overall this is a great car and an excellent way to get in to classic car ownership! Please message me with any questions. Thank you!
