Description for MG MGB 1972
Being relisted due to buyer not completing sale. Please do not bid if you have no intention of completing the sale. There is a $500 nonrefundable deposit. Just acquired this Chrome Bumper 17 MGB with overdrive from long time club member. Woman owner since early 90's. Restoration was done in late 90's and done pretty well. Car has been sitting since 2007. Just starting to show some bubbling on right side door skin and a tiny bit on that rocker. Repair panel seam on bottom of fender starting to show. No rust through or holes anywhere. Paint looks good having nice shine, however there are the normal chips and imperfections. Floors look solid as seen in the pictures. I can't lift the carpets to egt photos as the carpet was glued down. Check the floor pictures. The car runs and drives and the overdrive engages as it should. It starts easily and has a weber carb with manual choke. I put a set of plugs in it, cleaned the points, put some fresh gas in it and it fired right up. I have not changed the oil or filter. Only has 67268 miles, 293 miles since last inspection in 2006 ( see inspection sticker photo ). Oil pressure is at 50 when cold start then moves to 20-25 when warm. Engine sounds quiet and transmission shifts as it should including the overdrive. All lights work including gauge lights, installed new battery. Has original set of Lucas headlamps too. Speedo, tach and temp gauge work but I think the gas gauge needs a new sending unit, I haven't had time to double check that. I replaced the brake master cylinder, rear brake cylinders and rear brake lines. Brakes work fine so does the ebrake. The tires are older but have decent tread. Wire wheels look decent and have no broken spokes. The interior is really nice and done in Navy Blue with Yellow trim that is in excellent condition. The carpet is Navy as well and in good condition too, but there is a small wear spot on the drivers side where the driver rested her right foot while driving. All door panels are excellent as is the dash, it is absolutely fantastic. All glass is good and the top is excellent and has really clear windows. This car needs a great tune up, oil change and some tweaking and it'll be a really nice car. I have the clear PA title signed by the owner ready to transfer. Please don't ask if you can drive the car a long distance as I have only driven it locally and it has been sitting for many years. I try to describe anything I list with great detail so there are no surprises and I can be reached at 814-931-0627 with any questions. I will assist in shipping as long as all arrangements are made well in advance. The car is know to be for sale locally so auction will be cancelled if sold. A $500.00 non- refundable deposit is required. You can drive this car as is or take it to the next level while driving. Low reserve so bid away!!!
