Thanks for stopping by to take a look at a very cool 1960 MG MGA 1600 Mk II convertible. She’s perfectly suited for pure British fun.

Sporting a recent respray and LeMans styling, this MGA takes cool a few steps further.

The engine starts and runs without hesitation. The car shifts, brakes and drives. See the video.

Exterior

Nice paint looks great but some flaws are evident. See the photos and video. Speedster style windscreen and pilot’s nacelle. Wire wheels and Pirelli tyres. Wire mesh stone guards and matching grille. New rubber bits. The car presents beautifully.

Not shown: standard convertible top and side windows are included.

Floors/Rust damage

The floors are excellent. Check the pics. Few British cars have metal this nice. Check the photos or better yet, come see the car in person.

Engine

Matching numbers. Note 15702 is the engine number and the last 5 of the VIN. 1600cc engine with dual SU carburetors. Nice exhaust note. Runs well.

Transmission

4 Speed Manual transmission.

Braking, Steering

Light, feels nice. Disc brakes

Trim

The trim is in good shape. see pics and video.

Interior

Freshly upholstered black seats with red piping and new foam, Carpets are black with red mats. Door panels are nice. Radio is not hooked up. Seat belts.

Boot

Excellent condition. No evidence of rust or damage. Matching spare wire wheel. Jack and crank. Weatherstripping included but needs to be installed

Introduced for 1956 model year, the MGA roadster replaced the aging T-Series cars. an overhead valve engine mated to a four-speed manual transmission it featured independent front suspension, rack-and-pinion steering and a solid rear axle with leaf springs. Braking was by hydraulic drums at all corners. In 1959, the MGA 1600 was introduced with a larger engine and front disc brakes. The final iteration of the MGA was the 1600 Mk II. MGAs are ideal first collector cars. They’re affordable, simple to work on, rugged and attractive. Parts are readily available and moderately priced.
