Description for MG Other 1980

Here is a short video of the car running and a small test drive down the street. I literally just pulled her out of the garage after sitting a week. AWESOME 1980 MGB V8 ROADSTERTime to sell the MG and move on to another project. Owned this car for about 4 years now and have been tinkering with it. making it a much better driving car. ever since. Bought the car with the V8 swap already completed. The car was painted as you see it. Put about 2-3000 miles on it myself. What I have done is rewired almost the entire car. Removed the fuse box from under the hood and made a custom old school fuse box under the dash with all soldered connections. What I was going to do before I decided to sell it was pull the dash and rewire the gauges. The speedo. tach. oil pressure. water temp. all work fine. The fuel gauge works when you fill it and goes to zero about half full. The voltage meter doesnt work but I can see a wire is unplugged. I cannot get my big hands behind it to plug it back in. Wanted to pull the dash to rewire everything. But there is no need to. Just something I wanted to do. Someone with smaller hands could probably get that voltage meter plugged back in. The heater was removed when the V8 conversion was done so I also removed the heater controls in the center console and mounted a clock and vacuum gauge in their place. Also installed some custom LED interior lighting as well as LED lighting in the trunk. The previous owner cut out the rear bulk head to install old rickety speakers. It was not done right. There was no tight seal. so I also fixed that by installing new speakers. Also made a tight seal between the speakers and the bulk head making it structurally sound again. There is no gap between the speakers and the bulkhead and the tight seal makes the speakers sound very good. Also installed a newer stereo system I had sitting on a shelf. Didn't want to cut any metal in the doors so ended up mounting some speakers under the dash. It really works awesome and doesn’t interfere with your legs. Wired up a jack so you can plug in your phone or MP3 player in to the stereo. The car is also pre wired for a sub woofer if the next owner wants to add that. The motor is a 1969 Chevy 350 pulled from a C-10. I did not build it. but it does sound like it has a mild cam in it. And the car goes pretty damn good. The transmission is a 700R4 four speed automatic with a Mustang shifter. The tranny is leaking a bit. My mechanic says it is not a difficult fix. The front and rear ends are original. however I had the front end rebuilt with all new V8 bushings pressed in and new shocks. It goes down the road like a dream. The paint is yellow with black trim. The black trim is a thicker material. more like a Rhino liner type. It is an older paint job. I'd give it a 6 maybe 7 out of 10 for the quality. The hood had two holes to help with cooling so I also installed some 12v fans to help with exhausting hot air from the under the hood. These 350s run hot. The fans help out quite a bit. Drops the temp 30-40 degrees. The car looks to me to be rust free. There is no rust in the trunk. floors. rockers. wheel wells. ect. The underside looks to be rust proofed. The car was originally from Texas. As long as I have owned it. the car has never seen rain or snow. Always garaged under a car cover. which is included. It is a very clean car. Interior is in pretty good shape. Not sure what the seats are out of but to make them fit for me I had to put the passenger on the driver side and visa versa. Has the original carpeting which shows a some wear. Replaced the rear bulk head cover with a new custom made panel from marine vinyl and speaker cloth. Car has a new set of seat belts from Juliano's Hot Rod parts. Grant GT steering Wheel. Custom yellow and black door panels. The car has no top. however I do have a fiberglass hard top as well as soft top for it sitting in my shed. but they both will need restoring. Both included. As far as I am concerned it is a true roadster as long as she is mine. No need for a top. When I take this car to a car show and pop the hood. It attracts all sorts of attention. This car. is a poor mans Cobra! Lots of photos! On Mar-19-15 at 17:34:10 PDT. seller added the following information:Question: Do you have any overheating problems? This a very clean car. - lazmgbAnswer: Hello. hanks for the question. When I first bought it It overheated a bit on hot days sitting in traffic. The electric fan for the radiator did not provide enough ventilation so heat built up under the hood. I solved this by installing 4 - 12v fans where the vent holes on the hood are. You can see them in a few of the pictures posted. This helps pull hot air out of the under the hood. Dropped the temp of the engine 20-40 degrees. It really does work very well. I wired them to a toggle switch in the dash. I also wired the car so when you turn the ignition on. the electric fan for the radiator turns on. So that fan is on 100% of the time the car is running or the ignition switch is turned on. Yes the car is very clean. - deuce-roadster----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Question: Hi. Do you have a top for the car? Is it the stock rear dif?- pilot415Answer: Hello. hanks for the questions. ear diff: The front and rear ends are original. however I had the front end rebuilt with all new V8 bushings pressed in and new shocks. I can't tell if there are bushings in the mounts. Don- pezcopAnswer: Sorry. no I do not know the approximate mileage on the engine. Bought it with the engine swap already completed. However it is pretty strong. Oil pressure is nice and high when it starts up. Pretty sure it was rebuilt. You can hear a mild cam in it.
