No-Expense-Spare restoration. British Racing Green over Biscuit. Biscuit top. leather upholstery. rebuilt 1. 50cc I4 engine. transmission. suspension and brakes. One of the finest examples of T-Series production anywhere. Spanning a production run of nearly 20 years. the MG T-Series has enjoyed a lasting popularity that few other cars can lay claim to. The original MG TA was introduced in 1936 with a 1. 92cc inline-four under the hood and an open two-seater configuration. By 1950. the T-Series had progressed four generations from the TA. now referred to at a TD. Styling had evolved as every generation since 1936. if only slightly. For the TD. power came in the form of a 57bhp 1. 50cc inline-four with a four-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels. This 1954 MG TD is an impeccable example that has undergone a no-expense-spared. every-nut-and-bolt restoration. The car has known limited previous ownership and was owned by former New Jersey Senator Rober Littell for the better part of three decades. Restoration efforts exceeded $31. 00 and yielded one of the finest TD available anywhere. bar none. During restoration. this TD was completely disassembled and the body stripped of the aging original finish before being professionally refinished in classic British Racing Green. All of the chrome and brightwork were also stripped and replated or replaced outright. The interior was likewise stripped and reupholstered with Biscuit hued hides and carpeting. and a new leather dash was installed with rebuilt instruments. A new Biscuit soft top was installed. and correct 15" steel wheels were added with polished covers. The same level of craftsmanship that was afforded to the body and interior was also applied to the mechanical underpinnings of this MG with extensive effort put in to maintain originality. The 1. 50cc engine was disassembled and rebuilt. along with the four-speed manual transmission. Both are believe original. The car also received new wiring throughout. and both the suspension and braking system were rebuilt. This MG TD is listed in the T Registry and was also featured by SpeedTV in 2009. It is one of the finest examples anywhere. and is at the same level or better than a similar example that sold at Barrett-Jackson in 2012 for $66. 00! If you're considering a vintage T-Series for your collection. you owe it to yourself to see this TD. Call 425. 503. 0980 for more information or to arrange a personal viewing.
