Description for Mini Classic Mini 1967

OK, his is a Mini Cooper race car that I am unsure of it's exact year of manufacture. I'm told it is older than it is titled as and that it was a true Cooper. One telltale of that, gainI'm told, s the dual gas tank body mounts from the factory. At any rate I have a clear title that matches the VIN tag.

I bought this car a few years back and have just not gotten to it as needed. I have done a number of things but as yet it is not a driver. Too many cars, ot enough time.

Originally built by Bob Kimes (Dayton Ohio), aced by a variety of folks through the years. Last raced by Dave Jones about 7 years ago, ive or take. Anyone looking at this who knows more about this car please contact me and I'll update the details here. I've heard a number of folks speculate about this car but frankly I don't really know a lot about it.

I do not have a log book.

I'm not certain what engine it has. I've heard 997,1097 and 1098. Somebody help me out here.

It does crank with compression but I have not had it running. It must have had a single doubleweber setup as there was a cold air boxon the car (I should still have it) for that. But I got dual SUs with it which I mounted up with a little clearancing of the intake and header. The throttle is hooked up but really needs reworked, able travel is too much at present. Brakes sort of work, lutch hydraulics are currentlyfrozen. The differential is apparently "locked" as it is a bitch to push it aroundwhile turning.

Lights work and most all the wiring seems good and is a professional looking install for the most part. I was fooling with the fuel pump last time around but did not get it pumping. I installed the factory gas tank to use forsorting the car out as the fuel cell I got with it did not fit.

This car has certainly been around the block a few times, lenty of race rash, crapes and bruises. But it is quite solid with no rot. Some surface rust from myless than stellarstorage where the paint is failing in places. Glass is good.

Car came with 3 sets of wheels. Nice set of refinished mini lights (or clones?) with street tires on it presently. Also a set of cool English alloys with old racing slicks, ou can see one of these in one of the photos of the car as I got it. Thesebetter fill out the flares. There is a third set of factory steel rims with puny tires mounted, ood for a roller or such.

Come have a look, ar is in Yellow Springs, hio 45387. Give me a call, oug 937 231 01nine3.

Thanks for looking!
