Description for Mini Classic Mini 1967

1967 MG Mini 1100 Supercharged Sedan RELISTED DUE TO NO PAY BUYER.

This four door MG 1100 mini is entirely original and completely documented to include not only a clean title but also the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certified Copy of the Factory Record (birth certificate) and commissioning plate documenting its beginning at the factory. Repair records, hop manuals and documentation that goes back for at least 20 years included. It has spent most of its time as a trailer queen going to car shows the last 25 years. The MG version four dooris very rare to find in any condition- especially in the US. The car would make a great addition to any MG car collection.

I converted the original engine to a supercharged custom gas engine built by Minimania specifically for a VMAXSCART supercharger kit which I imported from England. (Engine and supercharger project alone cost $8300.) The pain staking restoration took almost 3 years and $12k. Then the car went into storage while I served three tours to Afghanistan for the Army. Recently I took the car out of storage after moving from Elko, V to Salt Lake City, T. The car started right up without any coaxing. It has never been stored outside nor been driven in the rain or snow. There is no body cancer. The under carriage looks impressive. The odometer says 70,000 but I do not believe it is the original. The car inspection looks more like 70 miles since the restoration. See the photos.

Here are the goods: Rebuilt supercharged engine with only 10 miles logged. (It would be easy to return the engine to the original aspirated dual carb set up for the MG purist collector.) The car just passed a Utah state safety inspection for licensing. The title is a clear Nevada title. The engine sports a low flow LCB exhaust header and a rebuilt transmission with KAD quick shift rod change shifter. Optima gel battery (now mounted in the trunk in order to make room for the supercharger intake and a keyed cut off switch. New electronic ignition and starter solenoid in a converted to 12V negative ground alternator electrical system. New fuel pump. Spin on oil filter rather than the expensive rare canister type. The oil is still honey yellow in color because the engine is so new. The original liquid suspension was recently was recharged. Entirely new custom professionally hand sewn from scratch grey front and rear seats. New carpet kit. 4 brand new tires this Fall replaced the 15 year old tires that had begun to dry rot from lack of use. Boxes of spare parts, riginal manuals, nd documentation to include rare spare suspension components, xtra original rims and hub caps, tc. Parts are plentiful and still available from such outlets as Minimaniacom, entcom, inicitycom, nd many others. A great internet support of these cars is Austinamericausacom and the 1100clubcom sites. The siteshold many links to other sites besides MG sites.

The disappointments:

The roof liner is no longer present. I pulled it out during the restoration and did not have a local shop with the skill set to make a custom one in Elko.Your local auto upholstery shop should easily make one for you. The door panels are a little faded. There is a 3x5" scuff in the blue paint on the left rear door. It is hardly noticeable. A small ding in the right rear lower quarter panel that is difficult to see unless the light is just right (see the photos.)There are a couple of flecks of white that managed to speckle the blue up on the front fender.

Because of the super charger the car is not a freezing winter driver. The intake for the supercharger gets frosty in the summer due to the physics and thus has a engine water heater inlet and outlet. The requisite oil drip on the garage floor that these engines were notorious for is present. (Oil seals shrink with time even though this engine is new when it was put in the car seven years ago. This does not mean there is anything mechanically wrong with the engine.)

The liquid suspension has to be pumped up once a season. I am including the pump setup. Its not hard to do. Most of these cars were later converted from a liquid suspension to the hard bumper suspension to avoid this problem. The trade off with the hard suspension is a much harder ride. The liquid suspension ride is truly amazing.

Since there is a supercharger pumping air into the engine it has to run on premium gas or you willknockthe engine. This is not a racing engine. The supercharger was added to get better performance at high altitude where I lived @ 5500 feet. This setup will give superior performance at sea level but these engines were not made to high rev like a racing engine. These engines are very easy to work on for tinkering in the garage but are still 1960s technology.

The usual legal stuff: The Buy It Now price will disappear quickly after the bidding starts. I have played by the rules of ebay for the last 14 years so dont ask me to end the auction early with a low ball offer.Be a smart shopper and ask lots of questions so we can avoidanother no pay dreamer causing me to relist .My ebay reputation speaks for itself. The car is sold as is, here is.

A non-refundable $500 US dollars Paypal deposit is required immediately at auction closure and the balance within five business days of bid closure. If you are new to ebay without a purchase history or a history of less than 99 percent be sure to first email me. I reserve the right to delete any bidder that is suspicious for being a child, r a last minute bid shiller. I welcome any and all questions via ebay email system only. I answer all emails on a once daily basis. Feel free to ask lots of questions.

The purchaser is responsible for pick up and shipping costs. I am willing to continue to store the car for a couple of weeks inside after the final payment without charge. If you have never shipped a car before, t is very easy to arrange, ut it can take 2-4 weeks on average to receive a car from across the country. The car is stored at my home about two blocks of I-15 in the Salt Lake City Valley. It is an easy pick up for a car hauler. I can help you with some advice based on my car shipping experience. These cars were made to be run about town and not across continents. I have driven minis from the port of entry in Seattle to Nevada but I have a thorough mechanical knowledge of classic minis in the event of an unexpected break down.

I have also advertised the car locally and reserve the right to end the bidding early in the event I find a local buyer. Bid early and have a Merry Christmas season.
