1962 Nash Metropolitan Convertible Special Pre Estate Sale Up for your consideration is a restored last year production 1962 Metropolitan convertible with approximately 700 trouble free miles since restoration. This year metro has a lockable outside trunk lid [ which many of the earlier years Metro’s did not have a trunk that was accessible from outside only from inside the car by lowering the rear seat back ] also many other options. The car is in storage 7 to 8 months a year, p on jacks, overed, nd on a battery tender. It has been driven on nice Saturday or Sunday drives, o the stores or to local car shows in our Florida area. It always draws a crowd of interested admirers with stories to tell and questions to ask. The car has been completely stripped down, etal work repaired, lock sanded, poxy primed, prayed sunburst yellow and frost white factory colors, hen sprayed coats of clear coat and polished. Dash stripped & painted. Under body metal and interior trunk walls and floors undercoated. New complete interior seats, ear & door panels, ind lacing, arpet, oor and window handles. New chrome keyed trunk handle, runk hinges, amp; new rubber trunk mat. All front end steering rebuilt, ncluding tie rods & ends, teering idler unit, hocks, earings, ushings, ront & rear brake shoes, rake master cylinder, etal brake line master to rear, lave cylinders new or rebuilt, ubber flex brake fluid hoses. Dot 5 silicone brake fluid installed. Front end aligned. All wheel rims sandblasted, rimed, nd painted. New windshield & rubber, lso window & door, ent windows, eadlight, andles, ood bumpers, runk hinge, id, amp; handle, as tank filler grommet, ubbers & weather stripping replaced. New hood safety latch and aux safety cable. Cowl vent screen. Window channel felts. New Chrome headlight rims, etropolitan side script, runk handle & hinges, rill surround chrome molding pieces, xcellent grill no marks, ew rear bumper guards, ront & rear bumpers and front bumper guards are not perfect but passable, orn button crazed should be replaced, rivers side outside door handle was chromed but has slight pitting should be redone, tainless steel body side molding both sides polished excellent no dings. Nice “M” grill medallion w/ new chrome surround. One key operates all locks and ignition. Engine rebuilt, ainted, as 160 Lbs compression on each cylinder, ew freeze plugs, otor mounts, lywheel resurfaced & new ring gear, arb rebuilt, ransmission seals replaced, ew transmission mounts, hifter mechanism adjusted, lutch master & slave cylinder & hose replaced, ew water pump & hoses, enerator rebuilt, an belt, eavier steel gas tank, new pointless electronic ignition installed, istributor cap & wires, ater heater hoses, hermostat, uel pump flex hose, uel pump rebuilt, ood strong battery, tc.Radio rebuilt, ew antenna, eater temp valve rebuilt, SW radial tires very nice they look great, nd have about 1/4” thread but are old and should be replaced. The convertible top looks nice but it is old & tight and plastic windows are not so clear. I usually drive with the top down and the new conv boot cover on. I was going to replace the roof but unsure what color, lack, an, r white, o order from the California Metropolitan Shop. The horn, eater, ipers, hoke, ights, adio, nder dash light, urn signals all work properly. All doors and trunk lock with one key. The chrome hubcaps are very nice no rust.
