Description for Nash Ambassador 1928
Original time capsule! I purchased this car from an elderly lady and her mother bought it brand new! True garage find. Parked in dry storage since 1983, 35 years without being moved! We left it cosmetically just as we found it. We did give it a basic service. The motor runs, the car drives, lights work. The Ambassador was the flagship of the Nash lineup. It featured the highest trim level with premium upgrades. These cars were purchased by several royal famalies. This one has 5 wire spoke wheels, a trunk, cowl lights and immpressive tubular bumpers. One of the coolest things about this car is inside. It is very high end with ornate hardware, inlaid wood trim, leather wrapped ashtray with retractable cigarette lighter and the most amazing item- original woman's vanity. There is a fitted make-up case and leather picture wallet. It is original to this car after 90 years amazingly it is still with the car. There are also pull down shades and a foot rest.
Considering this is an original unrestored car, I think it's condition is outstanding. The car is entirely complete. It is rock solid with no rot, no damage. It appears to be dry in and out. The wood structure appears to be solid too, the doors open and close perfectly. The vinyl top is not split, cracked or torn. The interior does not have any water damage. The interior is actually in really great condition for it's age. Gauges are mint looking, has very impressive wood steering wheel in excellent shape. It has 41,004 actual miles. There's an oil change tag in the door jamb, in 1931 it had 20,400 miles. This car used nickle plated trim, lesser cars had painted parts. This car would be fabulous once restored. You would be starting with a solid, complete car. If you enjoy original, preserved cars this is perfect. Either way it has a great story and is very interesting.
