Description for Nash Standard 1958
Private Metropolitan Collector, owner selling a 1958 Metropolitan Hardtop. 9,157 miles. Yes, you read that right. Original, Unrestored, absolutely rust free. Original Paint, 100% original interior. Spent its whole life in San Jose, California. I am the fourth owner of the car. All the paperwork, Owner manual, even the Jack is in its cardboard box. I bought the car about two years ago, non-running. It now runs, drives, stops. All fluids have been changed, fuel system has been rebuilt, starts right up and runs very good.
Excellent original exterior paint, some of the chrome has some small pits. The prior owner has touched up some of the lower white in spots. Interior is very nice, front seat has a small tear, as the fabric is getting soft. Original oil cloth door panels are still very nice. Rubber floor mat is still on the floor, with the normal age cracks.
Two of the original tires will come with the car, however they have decayed to the point they are NOT usable. The car currently has Firestone bias-ply white walls. Spare tire is original to the car.
In the 40+ years of collecting Metropolitans, this is the lowest mileage Original, Unrestored Metropolitan I have seen or heard of. I have shown the car at a couple of car shows, always a crowd around the car looking at it.
Surely a MOCNA (Metropolitan Owners Club of North America) contender for the Test of Time award and contender for Concours judging. Once in a lifetime opportunity to own a such a car. Expensive car but go find another one. You can NOT restore a car for what you can buy this for.
$500 deposit to at end of auction. Full payment must be received within 7-days, bank to bank wire transfer or cold hard cash. Bank Certified Check accepted, title and car will be transferred after the check clears. Car must be picked up within 14-days, unless other arrangements are made.
