Description for Nissan 240SX 1992
This car is my daily driver. I'm only selling because I retire in a few months and need to sell some of my vehicles before I move. This car was purchased new by my wife's aunt who passed it on to her daughter then my wife purchased it. I have copies of all the maintenance records since it was new. The oil is changed regularly at 3000 miles. It currently has 206,801 miles as of this add. The AC blows cold, cruise works great as does the power windows, and locks. The tires are almost new and have a road hazard warranty. The fuel pump, injectors, plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor, brake pads and rotors have been replaced. A while back I installed new tie rod ends, strut rod bushings, ball joints and struts. The power convertible top works great. All of the photos in this listing were taken this week. I was limited to 24 photos so if you need others contact me.Now I'll list the known defects or issues of this 26 year old car:The pictures don't show some of these items but I'll explain. The front end and hood has some rock pecks and small dings. A couple of the rock pecks on the hood has developed rust spots which are small maybe 1/4" diameter. There is no other rust on the car. The front splash shield under the engine has been removed because last year it was hauled on a trailer when the fuel pump quit. When unloading it, the lower bumper and splash shield hung on the trailer and ripped. The bumper cover was glued back together with bumper adhesive but the splash shield was taken off. The right front fender corner has a ding but it was bumped out and not repaired (if you need a close up photo of it contact me). There is other minor scratches and dings due to normal wear and tear of a 26 year old car. The radio antenna goes all the way up but will not go all the way down when you turn off the radio. I guess it needs a new mast which you can get on Ebay or the local dealer. The radio is a Kenwood AM/FM/CD player that works and sounds great. The drivers seat is worn. The left door panel cracked at the bottom where the seat belt comes out. Some of the trim pieces on the doors are not perfect. The convertible top is canvas material. It doesn't leak but some of the stitching has been hand stitched where it was coming apart at the seams. The rear window was replaced a while back and is still fairly clear and flexible. The convertible boot is great shape (rare) but the front retainer strip is broken. The left quarter window guide is broken so you have to hold the glass as it comes up to get it started in the channel. The center console rocker button cover for the left quarter window switch is broken but the switch still works fine. The transmission works great but will very randomly stick in low gear. This seems to be a common problem on the 240sx according to the Nissan 240sx technical forum. It must be switch sticking but I found when it does it, just turn the ignition key off and back on and it makes it shift normal. The steering wheel has a tear in the leather at the top so I have a cover on it.I still drive the car back and forth to work and on occasional trips to Tennessee and Florida with no problems. I have set a low reserve price. The winning bidder must deposit $500 to the seller on PayPal within 48 hours of auction end with the remainder paid by cashiers check or cash upon pickup of the vehicle. The buyer is responsible for pickup within 7 days of auction end. The buyer is responsible for any shipping arrangements. This auction is for USA only.
