This 1981 Datsun/Nissan 280zx is distinguished by a full Rebello tuned engine. which features new pistons. crank. rods. p90a head. valvetrain and Borla/TWM Individual throttle body induction system. The straight six engine remains normal aspired (not a 280zx turbo) and was dyno tuned to ~300lbsft torque. and 340hp. A ceramic header. header blanket and stainless steel exhaust with new mufflers were installed. After installing the engine. it was retuned for the street. Starts easy and idles surprisingly smooth. hot or cold temperatures. It is easy to drive. super responsive and under throttle it accelerates brutally fast. This car sounds fantastic. is luxurious and surprisingly comfortable for a 30+ year old car. It offers the utility of 2+2 seating with a T-Top glass roof. The unique and classic Japanese styling draws a lot of attention. It has several power options including original power rack and pinion power steering. The close ratio 5-speed transmission shifts smooth and precise. and brakes have all new fluid and lines. while the front received new rotors for reliable stopping power. To further enhance stopping power and improve handling custom 15 inch wheel and tire combinations were fitted along with superlight front (4 piston) calipers. Car will come with buyer's choice of one of the two sets of wheel and tires: 15x7 Shakotan wheels with 205/60 BFG all-season tires - like new tread. The Shakotan front wheels do not have fitting wheel caps. Or staggered wheel setup: Compomotive ML grey color wheels front 15x7 with 205/55 BFG G Force and rear 15x8 with BFG 225/50 G Force V-rated compound. also like new tread. The U-joint halve shafts were replaced by new Porsche type CV joints to eliminate vibrations. provide better angulation. and further lower unsprung and rotational mass. Recently installed along with all new factory rubber drivetrain mounts (transmission. differential. and cross members). Slightly lowered springs have the car handling well and included new front shocks and rear struts. Car comes with the factory springs as spares if you want to install them for more ground clearance or want a more cushioned ride. All of the new components have less than 4. 00 mile usage since installation. While I had ownership it was regularly services by Nissan/Datsun certified technicians. On the outside the car shows it original factory blue metallic paint. Very unique color. Car appears to be always garaged. I bought the car when it had 14. 00 miles on. The previous owner had it on display at the Volo museum. No leaks. this car was kept dry and out of the hot sun. and not rusted like many other Z cars. When not driving I keep the car in my garage under a cover. No signs of ever involved in an accident. As can be seen on the pictures the clear coat is still shiny. No cracks or chips in any of the glass. 3M light window tint was installed to protect the interior. The interior is completely original except for the fitment of a JDM 3 spoke sport steering wheel. Your choice if you want me to re-install the original factory blue 2 spoke steering wheel (not shown in the pictures). The winning bidder must email me the choice of steering wheel. The seat upholstery. headliner and carpet are all intact. no rips. and NO cracks in the dash or door panels. No smoke odors. All electronics. factory radio/tape. electric antenna. AC. and all gauges and lights still work. There is a working AFR gauge connected to the wideband o2 sensor. not shown in the pictures. but tucked in behind the dashboard if you ever want the display. The cargo bay is in good shape with only one scratch mark. about one inch. on the strut tower cover. but otherwise is clean. It still has the bags and tie-down straps for the removable glass T-tops and original space saver spare tire and tool kit. I am only selling because I need garage space for the family car.
