Description for Nissan 300ZX 1990
1990 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo (aka Z32) (aka Fairlady Z)The engine was completely rebuilt. compression lowered (for more boost. of course) and little expense spared. Upgrades include:• Arias pistons (cost 800 in parts)• Jim Wolf Technology valves and cams (cost 1000 in parts)• GReddy TD05 turbo kit (cost 4-5k alone) with external waste gates and upgraded intercoolers• 720cc injectors with a custom fuel rail for AN fittings (cost 1000 in parts)• Aftermarket fuel filter and regulator with stainless fuel lines (cost 200 in parts)• Oil preluber/postluber - check out this site (http://www. autoenginelube. com/) for more info. This keeps the engine in top shape by lubing the top-end before it starts and then keeping the oil flowing after it turns off. With this you don't need a turbo timer or to keep it running for a few minutes. (cost 250 in parts)• A'PEXi AVC-R (Actuator Valve Controller Type-R) boost controller - cost 400 for parts alone• A'PEXi S-AFC (Super Air Flow Converter - cost 200 for the part alone)• Service Techtom monitor (Digitally shows temperature. mixture. speed and lots more - cost 400 for the parts alone)• Aftermarket Boost gauge (on A pillar) (cost 100)• Dual Exhaust Temp gauge (on A pillar) (cost 100)• Kevlar racing clutch (cost 500+ in parts alone)• HKS HiPower (Hiper) exhaust system (cost 900+ in parts)All the parts I listed (aside from the new radiator support) add up to about 12. 00. The cost of installation. paint. engine rebuild etc. likely topped 10-15k additional. It's likely about 35k in total has been spent on this car. The car has the following features:• 3. 0L V6 Twin-turbo• 5-speed manual transmission• White (repainted in 1999). The paint / finish looks really nice and is in great shape. • Black leather seats • Electronic climate control• Power windows• Power locks (pressure controlled)• Power driver's seat• Rear windshield wiper• Cruise control• T-tops • Rear wheel steering • TwinZ Design custom spoiler added in 2012 (cost 350)• Kenwood CD/MP3 player added in 2011• 18" ADR Design wheels (these look really great. pictures do not do them justice - cost 1000)• New core radiator support in 2014 (cost 1500)• 235/40 ZR18 BFGoodrich Comp T/A Front• 265/35 ZR18 BFGoodrich G-Force T/A RearThe car has probably only done five thousand miles since the rebuilt engine. The car was completely repainted back in 1999. It was a salvage title at the time. current WI title shows no record of salvage. They stripped the car. the body shop went through it and found nothing majorly wrong. I have bare metal pictures of the car at the body shop. Since the rebuild. only Royal Purple full synthetic oil has been used in the engine. The rear differential and transmission currently have Red Line synthetic oil. The car comes with an assortment of parts including additional stainless lines and AN fittings. extra wiring harness. stock injectors. service cover for the car (covers side fenders and front). FACTORY service manual (aka: the 300ZX bible). timing belt covers (they were removed when the engine was rebuild and never reinstalled). The bad (where it needs some work):* While the car has only done a few thousand miles since the engine rebuild. it's spent nearly ten years garaged and not driven a whole ton. It needs some TLC. - For example. I had to flush and replace the clutch fluid recently as it was black and the clutch was really tough to push down- Window tint needs to be removed on the rear hatch (it's bubbling)- Driver's door trim needs replacement (you'll see in the pictures) and the passenger side desperately needs some glue. - A number of small dings that you really have to look for but notice once you know they are there- It really needs a tune and probably some small maintenance items. Most of it's related to it sitting around. not actually wear and tear. Here's the story of how I acquired the car:- I bought the car last year as a 'summer car'. I've always loved these cars. I have the money. but not the time to invest. I bought it off a good friend of the guy who built it. Neither really had the time to drive it and had to sell due to having kids. - After I bought it. I took it to a local import specialist to have it checked out. They said it was in great shape and all they could find was the core radiator support needed repair. I bought a new part from Z1 and had that repaired at a local body shop at a cost of approx. 1200 plus 300 for the new part. - There are so many settings / electronics in this car. I am WAY over my head and have really been afraid to do anything or drive it too much. - I replaced the plugs recently with NGK iridium after many hours poring over forums for the perfect plug- I changed the oil with Royal purple synthetic before the winter hit- I replaced the fuel cap with a new part- Clutch fluid was flushed- Coolant was flushed in the summerThe car still needs some work. if it doesn't sell I am taking it to beyond redline to get it dyno tuned to find out how much power it has once and for all. When it warms up I plan to remove the bubbled tint. The car is an absolute weapon and has put a large smile on even the most skeptical on friends. The sound alone shocks you when it gets on boost. Whenever I take it out it gets noticed and someone comments on how sweet it is. how sweet it sounds or just how much they love the 300zx. I had two people yell out 'awesome car man' in the space of 5 minutes this summer. and no. it wasn't sarcasm (one driver managed to snap a pic with his phone). Car is sold "as is. " It is. however. a 20+ year old car. I've tried my best to explain the car. if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.
