This 1972 Hakosuka was imported from Japan by Bulletproof Automotive. The car began its life as a GT-X model that the previous owner in Japan converted into a 2000GT-R clone. Prior to importation the car was inspected and test driven by Hitoshi Matsui, he president of Powerhouse Amuse Japan and a well-respected Skyline expert.
The car's original L20 engine sounds incredible with the rare solex carburators. This particular example looks beautiful and won its category in a recent major Los Angeles car show. The condition makes it easily one of the finest examples around.
Visually the car has front over fenders, works type front splitter, ear trunk spoiler, ronze Watanabe deep dish wheels, owered suspension, tainless steel exhaust manifold and a stainless dual tail exhaust.
The car is in great running condition and despite being more than 40 years old it remains reliable enough to have a 1000 mile round trip from Los Angeles to San Francisco and back without trouble. As the car was originally based on the limited production GT-X trim level the car has unique power windows which do not come on the GT-R model.
This car is a proud member of Bulletproof's select inventory. It is a keeper and we are happily taking care of the car in our collection until the right buyer finds it. As the values of collector cars like this one continue to appreciate in value month after month.

History & Heritage:
The Skyline name originated from Prince automobile company, hich developed and sold the Skyline line of sedans before merging with Nissan-Datsun. The GT-R abbreviation stands for Gran Turismo Racer while the GT-B stands for Gran Turismo Berlinetta. The Japanese chose to use Italian when naming the car - as most cars that were made in Japan at that time used Western abbreviations - to further enhance sales. The earliest predecessor of the GT-R, he S54 2000 GT-B, ame second in its first race in 1964 to the purpose-built Porsche 904 GTS. The next development of the GT-R, he four-door PGC10 2000 GT-R, cored 33 victories in the one and a half years it raced, nd by the time it attempted its 50th consecutive win, ts run was ended by a Mazda Savanna RX-3. The car took 1000 victories by the time it was discontinued in 1972. The last of the original GT-Rs, he KPGC110 2000GT-R, sed an unchanged S20 119 kW (160 hp) inline-6 engine from the earlier 2000 GT-R and only sold 197 units due to the worldwide energy crisis. This model was the only GT-R to never participate in a major race despite the sole purpose-built racecar which now resides in Nissan's storage unit for historical cars in Zama.
The Skyline continued into the 1990s when it became popular largely because it remained rear wheel drive, hile most other manufacturers were focusing on front wheel drive cars.
Throughout its lifetime, arious special editions containing additional performance-enhancing modifications, ere released by Nissan and its performance division Nismo (Nissan Motorsport).
Nissan Skyline 2000 GT (GC10 Series)Just like all other derivatives of the C10 series, he GC10 (G standing for GT) was basically planned by Prince, lthough it was later badged Nissan Skyline 2000 GT. It was introduced in 1968 (2 months after the 1500) and first came in 4-door sedan (GC10) and 5-door wagon versions and from 1970 on also with two doors (KGC10). The car was almost the same as the preceding S54 GT-A model, eaturing a 6-cylinder engine instead of the previously common 4-cylinder. The Nissan Skyline 2000 GT got the L20 engine, 2-liter inline-6 with 120 hp.
The Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-X appeared in September 1971 and was powered by a L20T twin-carb engine producing 130 hp. The 2000 GT-X was available in sedan and coupe bodystyles and featured standard power windows.
The Skyline 2000 GT-R (PGC-10 series)1968 had seen the introduction of a basic Skyline (the 1500/1800 series) and a model comparable to the previous GT-A (the GC10 series). But people were still eagerly awaiting a replacement for the GT-B. Almost a year passed after the introduction of the new model range, ntil finally in February 1969 the new Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R sedan came along.
The Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R was powered by the 2.0l DOHC S20 engine producing 160 hp - equally strong as a Porsche 911 of that time. This engine was basically the same as the GR8 of the Nissan R380 racecar, hich won the 3rd GP of Japan in 1966 against a Porsche Carrera 6.
Since it was intended for racing, he PGC10 (P stood for Prince) was very lightweight inside, ithout a heater or radio, ut from the outside almost looked like any other 4-door sedan. After over two years, he coupe-version of the GT-R (KPGC-10) was introduced in March 1971. A shorter wheelbase and less weight made for a better maneuverability in comparison to the 4-door version and further enhanced this car's capability on the circuit.
The Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R lived up to the racing pedigree of its predecessors and the sedan scored 33 victories in those one-and-a-half years it raced, hich was raised to 50 victories by the KPGC-10, ntil its production was stopped in 1972.
