Description for Oldsmobile 442 1968
1968 Oldsmobile 442 Convertible. My father purchased this car in 1975 with a blown engine. It had several different Oldsmobile engines through the years and is currently powered a 403 cubic inch Oldsmobile engine. This car has been kept inside our family owned auto repair business when not being driven for the last 21 years. None of the rust on the car has gotten any worse in the last 21 years. The car is almost entirely in original condition. The front brakes were upgraded to discs with stock parts from a 1974 Oldsmobile Cutlass including the spindles and upper and lower ball joints and control arm bushings. The original 4 core radiator is still in the car with new long life antifreeze in it. The air conditioning is all there except the freon. The turbo 400 transmission was rebuilt to high performance standards, ust had the fluid changed and has firm crisp shifts. The rear axle is the original Oldsmobile 12 bolt with 3.08 gear ratio in excellent condition. Brand new dual exhaust with GoFLo mufflers and balance tube.
I have all the chrome and trim pieces except for one small piece to the right of the trunk on the back of the car. All of the interior door and side trim panels have been replaced or come with the car ready to install. This is one rock solid car that mainly needs a top notch paint job. I have gone through the fuel system replacing the strainer, ll hoses, he fuel pump and carburetor. The original fuel tank is in excellent condition and now has ethanol free gas.
I invite and advise inspection before purchase. I can raise the car on a lift for underside inspection or take a buyer for a ride. Contact me with any questions or for additional pictures. This car is for sale locally and is subject to prior sale and cancellation of this auction.
