Description for Oldsmobile Cutlass 1966
For sale: 1966 Oldsmobile Cutlass 2DR Holiday Coupe. I am the second owner of the car. I purchased it about 28 years ago from the original owner. At that time, he car had 125,000 miles. I drove the car regularly until about 10 years ago and have driven it only occasionally in recent years. The car currently has 230,026 miles.
The car retains the original 330 CI, BBL, ngine, nd 2 SPD 300 Jetaway transmission with power steering and power brakes. It has always been a good reliable, ow maintenance car. While I've owned the vehicle, 've replaced the water pump, uel pump, arburetor, tarter, ngine wiring, attery, ires, elts and hoses and performed regular maintenance.
The car runs strong and starts reliably. It is in good original condition and has been reasonably well maintained. However, hile it has been kept indoors for the last 10 years, t was commonly parked outdoors for its first 40 years. So, s a result of age, xposure to the elements and mileage all major components are in need of restoration.
The engine uses very little oil but has oil leaks especially at the valve covers. The Transmission shifts well but also leaks fluid. There is a clank when downshifting that is either in the transmission or u-joint. The radiator has at least one small leak in need of repair. The car steers very loosely so all steering and suspension components should be replaced or refurbished. The rear tires have approximately 60 percent tread, he front tires approximately 40 percent. The brakes operate properly but should be inspected and serviced. The exhaust and fuel systems are in good condition.
The body overall, s in good condition. Most panels are relatively straight and undamaged; however, span>there is significant rust at the bottom of the rear quarter panels and trunk floor as appears in the photos. These panels require significant repair or replacement. There is also rust at the bottom of the right front fender. The chrome is complete but pitted/faded and in need of refurbishment. The windshield is chipped and pitted. Other glass is unbroken but also pitted. The wheel covers are original but dented in places. The paint is the original autumn bronze paint, ut very worn, aded and scratched.
The interior is in fair condition. The seat vinyl, oor panels and carpet in places are in need of repair as appears in the photos. The headliner is in good condition. The car has the original low back bucket seats and center console with manifold pressure gauge. The t-handle shift is broken but still operates. Most gauges are functional. The dash lights do not work. The heater works well. The radio has been refurbished; however, he aerial is missing so it is non-functional. The headlights, rake lights and turn signals are functional.
The car has a clear Colorado title. Included is a maintenance receipt file.
Overall, his is a great mid-sixties classic muscle car and a worthwhile candidate for restoration. I sell it reluctantly but no longer have space available for indoor storage.
The car is listed at no reserve. It is for sale locally, o the auction may be ended early upon prior sale. Please contact me with any questions. Good luck with bidding.
Thank you.
