FWD 455ci Leather Brougham Big and Beautiful !!! The first Toronado made it's appearance in 1966 and made big news when the Toronado would always have front wheel drive. The Cord automobile was a pioneer with fwd in the thirties. Notice the coffin nose of this Olds that resembles the same front end of the Cord. But now we have a modern mass produced car with a unique front wheel drive. Two models were offered this year. There is the Custom hardtop coupe and the Brougham hardtop coupe as this example shown here is. The only engine placed up front within a Toronado is a monster V8 455 cid with 215 horses. The Custom hardtop is the lower end of the two and only 2555 of those were built. The Brougham hardtop boast 21749 units built. The Custom cost $6891 and the Brougham cost $7137. This example is a low mileage and of course an original survivor. The paint is a beautiful metallic and the leather seats are in decent shape. Truly a beautiful Oldsmobile. This example is when Oldsmobile still meant something to General Motors and another Oldsmobile example to treasure for a nameplate that no longer exists.
