Description for Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight 1979
This car is being relisted due to a Non-Paying Winning Bidder. Please have your funds secured prior to bidding.
PLEASE NOTE: During my video, I mistakenly referred to the car as a 1978 Oldsmobile Delta 88 when in fact it is a 1979 Oldsmobile Delta 88. I am sorry for any confusion this may cause.
I understand that there is a lot of information in my ad. I also understand that this may be boring to the person who is just looking and not buying. However, for the person who is looking to buy and spend their hard earned money, I feel that there is never too much information.
As to myself, I am a (66) year old kid that loves muscle cars. For my work, I am retired from Managing a Correctional Facility here in Maine and had worked for the Maine Department of Corrections for (40) years. I am also a respected member of my community. I mention this only because of the value of this car and so that prospective buyers will have some idea as to who they are dealing with. Also, please check out my eBay feedback that has only one negative feedback which I believe I should not have received. I was given the option to refund money to the buyer or he would leave negative feedback and ruin my 100% feedback. I did nothing wrong and always disclose everything in my ads so I declined. He left the one and only negative comment out of (1,140) transactions. Many of my transactions have been muscle cars, which I have sold to individuals all over the country as well as Canada, England, France, Switzerland and Australia. My reputation for honesty is well known amongst muscle car lovers.
INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS ARE WELCOME WITH A DOWN PAYMENT VIA PAYPAL AND THE BALANCE VIA WIRE TRANSFER ONLY.
WILL CONSIDER TRADES EVEN OR UP SOME.
And now for this 1989 Oldsmobile Delta 88 that I am auctioning here today. First let me say that for those who know me, many of the cars I have owned and sold over the years were in excellent to outstanding condition. Please understand that this Olds is not in that category and the reserve is set accordingly. It is very nice street cruiser and may even win your local car shows but it is not a rotisserie car and the low reserve definitely reflects that. However, due to the fact that it is a 3-owner rust-free ’89 Delta 88 and appears to have all of its original body panels with only 67,000 original miles and it appears to have been ordered with lots of options including A/C and stereo 8-track, I feel that it is still a desirable car.
The young owner is also in the market for a specific second generation Dodge Ram Pickup. He wants a 1994 to 2004, Dodge Ram 1500, 4X4, extended cab short bed pickup truck. If you have one to trade, contact me.

Video:
Exterior: The Oldsmobile was repainted last year and should be considered in driver condition. At the same time, new tires and rims were added to give the Delta 88 a more aggressive and sporty look. The paint, even though it is driver quality, is very presentable as the photos and video attest. The Olds appears to have all of its original body panels still intact and is rust and rot free. The glass and brightwork is in very nice condition all around.
Interior: The interior appears to me to be all original and in good condition with the exception of the non-original headliner and plastic overhead light cover that is missing. The dash, console, door panels and package tray are in very good condition. All gauges are in working order. The AM/FM/Tape system appears to be original to the car and in good working condition with front and rear speakers and a factory fader switch. The horn, wipers and blinkers work correctly. Headlights, tail lights and the plate light are all functional. Factory A/C with working pump needing recharge. The heater and defroster are also in good working condition.
Trunk: The trunk looks good but does not have the spare or the jack assembly.
Undercarriage: The undercarriage is very clean. I see no signs of any rust issues in the original floor pans or frame rails. New exhaust system has been installed.
Engine Compartment: The engine compartment has not been detailed but appears to be 100% original. The engine components also appear to be still in place a functioning properly. No rust, rot or funny noises. With a recent tune up and fluid change, the engine sounds excellent.
Transmission: Appears to be the original transmission. It shifts up and down through the gears as it should.
The Olds Delta 88 starts, runs, shifts, brakes and sounds like you would expect from a 3-owner, 67,000 original mile car. Overall, this is a very nice Olds that is priced well below what I believe the market value to be.
Misc:
I am an individual and do not claim to know everything there is to know about these cars. It is your responsibility to ensure that all of you questions or concerns are resolved prior to bidding and not after.

FYI: I do not have a Maine title for this 1979 Oldsmobile Delta 88 as Maine does not issue titles for vehicles that are more than (15) years old. I have sold cars all over the country as well as Canada, England, Switzerland, Australia and the Netherlands and have never had a problem. The car will come with a Bill-of-Sale, the Maine registration signed over to the new owner and a copy of the Maine law regarding titles which is on a form issued by the Maine Motor Vehicle Department
THANKS FOR READING THIS AD. GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY BIDDING.
