Description for Oldsmobile Cutlass 1970
1970 Oldsmobile Rallye 350. I purchased this car 3 years ago from the second owner that bought it in 1971. It has some dings and dents but overall just a very original Rallye. The previous owner stated that he had hit a dog early on in his ownership and the left fender and front bumper were replaced. I would say that this car retains 60% of it's original paint. Both front and rear bumpers still have the rubber coating. He lived in California and bought the car when he returned from the service. The car then followed him over the years to North Dakota and finally Wisconsin which is where I bought it.Since I purchased it I have wet sanded and buffed the paint as it was very dull. New points, condenser, cap, rotor, plugs wires and air filter. Changed the transmission filter and fluid and of course the oil on a regular basis. I thought the car deserved a set of correct G70-14 Goodyear Polyglas tires so I stepped up to the plate and bought a set. Everything that I can think of still works on the car. Radio, 8-track player, dome lamp, trunk lamp, choke, etc. The previous owner had the windshield and back glass pulled out, the channels cleaned, primed and the glass resealed so there is a 2" strip of grey primer around both the windshield and back glass. The original spare and trunk mat are still in place. The right fender has some rust coming through on the bottom but nothing that can't be cut out and patched. The right quarter has a dent where it looks like something pushed up against it. There is a crack in the middle of the hood and an area facing forward that has a hunk of fiberglass missing. Original engine, transmission, rear axle, carb, alternator and distributor.
In closing this is a very nice original car that has been nothing but a pleasure to own. This is NOT a show car. It has various dings, dents and war wounds. I think a "paintless dent removal" guy could do wonders with the car. The car runs, drives and shifts as it should. If you are into survivor type vehicles I think you will like this one. Please Email with any questions or give me call in the evenings or weekends at 260-623-3345. I would be happy to discuss the car in detail with any serious buyer. Inspections are encouraged and welcomed.
