HERE WE HAVE A REAL DEAL 1970 NUMBERS MATCH 442 THIS IS A FIELD/BARN FIND CAR. IT IS FROM CALIFORNIA WHERE I BOUGHT IT. THIS CAR IS NO LONGER IN THE CALIFORNIA DMV SYSTEM SO THE TITLE IS NO LONGER WITH THE CAR. I WILL BE PROVIDING A NOTARIZED BILL OF SALE TO THE BUYER. THIS CAR ALSO HAS THE ORIGINAL BUILD SHEET. IT WAS FOUND ON TOP OF THE GAS TANK. THE CAR HAS VERY MINIMAL RUST. THERE IS SOME RUST ON THE OUTER SHEET METAL OF THE LOWER QUARTER PANELS AS PICTURED. HOWEVER THE TRUNK DROP OFFS AND THE WHEEL HOUSES DO NOT SHOW ANY SIGNS OF RUST THAT I HAVE FOUND. THERE IS NO WINDOW ROT THAT I HAVE FOUND EITHER. THE CAR HAD A VINYL TOP ORIGINALLY BUT THAT APPEARS TO HAVE BAKED OFF IN THE SUN. WHICH IS GREAT BECAUSE IT DID NOT RETAIN MOISTURE TO EFFECT THE ROOF METAL. SO IT IS IN VERY GOOD SHAPE. THE FLOORS ARE SOLD EXCEPT FOR THE FRONT PASSENGER FLOOR AREA WHICH NEEDS ABOUT A 2 FOOT SQUARE PATCH. THE DRIVERS SIDE HAS ABOUT A 3 INCH SECTION OF RUST. THE REST OF THE FLOORS APPEAR VERY SOLID. SEE THE PICTURES FROM INSIDE THE CAR AND UNDER THE CAR.WHEN SOLD NEW BY THE BUILD SHEET THIS CAR WAS SOLD AT ANDY BUTTIS MOTORS IN CARSON CITY NEVADA. THE BUILD SHEET INDICATES IT CAME FACTORY WITH AIR CONDITIONING (WHICH IS MOSTLY THERE EXCEPT THE COMPRESSOR) POWER DISC BRAKES, POWER STEERING, 3:23 REAR AXLE, CONSOLE, BUCKET SEATS, TURBO 400 TRANSMISSION, TINTED GLASS, REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER, AND TILT WHEEL. WHEN I GOT THE CAR THE STEERING COLUMN WAS MISSING. I HAD A COLUMN SHIFT COLUMN AND INSTALLED IT SO THE CAR WOULD STEER. IT WORKS BUT IS NOT CORRECT FOR THE CAR. THE CAR ALSO CAME FACTORY CODE 55 FOR GALLEON GOLD WITH BLACK STRIPES AND A BLACK VINYL TOP. AT SOME POINT THE CAR WAS PAINTED AND THAT IS IN POOR SHAPE NOW. THE HOOD, RIGHT FENDER AND RIGHT DOOR ARE IN PRIMER AND THAT IS HOW I GOT IT. I FIND NO FRAME ISSUES LIKE DENTS, CRACKS OR RUST BUT HAVE NOT HAD IT ALL APART. YOU CAN SEE IN THE PICTURES I DID TAKE PICTURES ALL OVER THE CAR. THE CAR ALSO CAME FACTORY WITH GOLD INTERIOR WITH BUCKET SEATS AND A FLOOR SHIFT CONSOLE. THE FLOOR SHIFTER IS THERE BUT THE CONSOLE IS MISSING. THE TRUNK FLOOR IS SOLID BUT DOES SHOW FLAKEY ON THE TOP SO SOME MIGHT JUST POR15 THE FLOOR AND SOME MIGHT REPLACE IT. I GUESS IT DEPENDS ON WHAT KIND OF RESTORATION ONE IS AFTER.THIS CAR HAS THE VIN MATCHING 455 ENGINE, WITH THE CORRECT E HEADS AND THE CORRECT INTAKE MANIFOLD FOR A 70 442. THE ENGINE IS NOT RUNNING AND I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO TURN IT OVER. SO, THAT MEANS A FULL REBUILD AT MINIMUM LIKE BORING, ALINE BORING, FULL MACHINE WORK AND BEARINGS AND SO ON. BUT, IT IS THE ORIGINAL CORRECT NUMBERS MATCHING BLOCK. THE TRANSMISSION IS THE ORIGINAL AND CORRECT TURBO 400 OG CODE TRANSMISSION AS WELL. THE REAREND IS A CORRECT OLDSMOBILE TYPE O 12 BOLT COVER REAREND. BUT IS CODE SC AND THE IS A 3:08 NOT A 3:23 LIKE THE BUILD SHEET STATES. THE CAR IS ON A TRAILER IN SOME OF THE PICTURES BECAUSE IT WAS A GOOD TIME TO TAKE THE PICTURES. IT IS NOT ON THE TRAILER NOW. (I AM SAYING THIS AS MANY HAVE ASKED WHY) IT DOES NOT RUN SO IT IS HOW IT IS MOVED.
