Description for Oldsmobile 442 1969
Up for sale is our 1969 Olds 442 W30 4 speed. This car has had a complete frame off restoration on the body and the interior was restored to original as well. Over 60K invested in this beautiful car, which was started a few years agowhile my son was stationed overseas in Iraq. This car is no disappointment and nothing has been left untouched. Everything is new or restored including the motor which was completed by Don's Speed Shop in Kenosha Wisconsin. The motorwas done to the original specifications. When the motor wasdisassembled, we were advised that there was a bad cam bearing journal in it. It could have been repaired, however we found the right era block for a W30, and had all of theparts from the original motor put into the new block. I do still have the originalnumbers matching block for the car.The car has under 200 miles since the compete restoration. It basically sits in storage. The car has the factory W30 option, ram air, 4 speed, special order Crimson Red paint, bucket seats, and console. Thebody color was restoredas close to the original factory color in base coat / clear coat. PPG is the paint that was used. What is interesting about this car is the color code. It is a special order color but not sure exactly what it was called. The - - on the body plate for the color code lets you know it is a special order color which makes it even more rare for a 442 W30 car. Olds 442 W30 factory 4 speed. The W30 option isan optional package on 442's only built in the Lansing (M vin)plant.
This car was purchasedfrom Oregon in 2007 as a survivor. It was brought to Wisconsin as a father son project. I havethe original listing with all details. The cardoes not have a build sheet - which is disappointing, but does not take away from the beauty of this car.All numbers point to it being a true W30.
- The distributor stamped number is 111933
- The heads are stamped "D" (W30)
- The exhaust manifolds arecasted W and Z
- The transmission was replaced longago, before I bought the car, howeverit was replaced with a used 442 / W30 tranny.
- The rear end is the correct rear end with the TO stamping on the passenger side rear axel housing.
