Description for Oldsmobile Super 88 1960
Beautiful 1960 Oldsmobile Super 88 Sedan
BB V8 394 w/ four barrel and Hydramatic Auto Transmission. P/S P/B P/Seat
Awesome street cruiser and solid highway driver. She's a rare car so it really turns the heads and gets a lot of thumbs up.
Beautiful mirror finish paint is just moths old. The color is a blend of Black & Red with Gold metallic. Some call it Eggplant. And that description is close. It will look everything from black cherry to cinnamon depending on the light. I apologize that my cell phone doesn't do it justice. Great glass and shiny trim. Emblems present and paint retouched. Strong original chrome with minimal pitting. Lots of rubber replaced...door seals, trunk, window channels, hood & door bumpers. Interior has new AutoMeter instrument panel, Kustom removable center console, seat belts, carpet and fitted Mexican blanket seat covers for that SoCal L@@K. Door panels are two-tone vinyl. Headliner is nice but does have a couple inch long tears and foxing. Original wonder bar radio works but can take a minute to warm up. Dome light in cabin, trunk and under hood are inop or disabled. Factory matched piping around doors. Dash is very nice with exception to one inch long blemish on passenger side. All in all very nice.
Engine runs strong and was told by previous owner it had 60K since rebuild. Fires right up, drives anywhere. Recent full tune up and regular service. Entire braking system, cylinders, bearings have been gone through. Fresh tires (less than 100 miles) with slight combo for an aggressive stance. Front end, idler, drag link, shocks, steering gear box have been replaced. Transmission has been pulled, bearings and seals replaced. Gas tank pulled, cleaned and new sending unit. New water and power steering pump. New radiator, shroud and electric fan with control unit. Lots more to mention and a good deal was invested. The past year since it's restoration it has been my daily driver with over 1,200 miles put on during that time. Couple boxes of spare parts go along with it. Enjoy.
She's a sweetie
