Description for Oldsmobile Toronado 1990
Up for auction is a very nice Toronado Trofeo. I purchased this vehicle with the intention of fixing it up next spring. I had one just like it and loved the car. Unfortunately, my storage situation has unexpectedly changed and I no longer have indoor storage for two of my vehicles. I would rather sell the cars than let them sit outside during a Chicago winter. That would be a big hassle for me and not good for the cars.I recently acquired this car and have not driven it at all. It does run just fine and it does drive. It was loaded and unloaded from a flatbed truck for shipping. There are a few things that need minor repair. The A/C needs to be looked over. The ash tray cover is missing. The headlight covers do not work properly. The main issue the new owner would have to deal with is that the brakes are not working properly. The previous owner told me it was a leaking brake line but I have not had the chance to investigate. I'm assuming it would need a complete brake job and anything less than that would be a bonus.
I purchased this car through ebay because it looked nice in the pictures and it only had a little over 61,000 miles on it and a clean history. Amazingly low and correct miles! When I got it, the car was much nicer than I expected. I'm really torn about parting with it but I just can't have four cars sitting on my street all winter. This one will have to go. I'll have another car up for auction soon.
This car is nice but not perfect. It is almost 27 years old, after all. There are a few dings here and there but no break in the paint. You will need to fix a few things before it is roadworthy. I'm describing it to the best of my ability based on the short time I've owned it. Please ask questions if you have any. I've taken over one hundred detailed pictures to show how nice this car is. I've posted to the Facebook Oldsmobile Club of America and the Oldsmobile Toronado Trofeo pages. That way you can contact me through FB and I can send you all the pictures. Look at the pictures carefully before bidding. The interior needs a cleaning but it is in great shape for the year. No tears in the leather. My reserve is my break even price for what I have into the car. I'm not out to make a profit (but not against it either so feel free to bid!). I'm an avid Oldsmobile enthusiast and would really like to find this car a good home with someone that will take good care of it. It's a relatively rare vehicle and I see them turning up at car shows more and more often. It qualifies for antique plates in Illinois.
Good luck bidding.
