Recently acquired from the Paul Teutul Sr. Collection, this outstanding '68 442 Convertible was the recipient of a $100,000+ nut & bolt rotisserie restoration to concours levels throughout! She has been driven less than 25 test miles since completion of the extensive restoration, and looks like it just rolled off of the factory assembly line landing on our showroom floor. I have done a lot of business w/ Paul Sr. through the years and I have never seen anything but top-shelf cars come from his high-end classic car collection. This spectacular numbers matching '68 442 Ragtop is no exception! It is as close to a brand new 1968 Oldsmobile 442 Convertible as you will ever find, period! All of the original 100% rust-free sheet metal is laser straight all the way around the car w/ perfect panel alignment and body gaps. The factory correct Teal Blue Poly paint is simply flawless throughout w/ a deep lustrous shine. This color combination is truly stunning and really has to be seen in person to appreciate how gorgeous it is. All of the chrome including both bumpers and all of the stainless trim is in show quality condition appearing ‘As New’. She sits on factory correct 14” Super Stock II wheels wrapped w/ brand new Firestone F70-14 Wide-Oval Redline tires. Underneath the car is as perfect as it is on top, with every component appearing ‘As New’ from front to back. Only factory correct NOS parts were used with every nut & bolt attended to. Please look closely at the photos to see the extensive restoration work performed on this car. When you slide into the flawless Teal Bucket Seat interior, you can’t help but go back in time to an era when these beautiful muscle cars ruled the streets. This is one of the most beautiful interiors that I have ever seen in my life! The Teal Blue vinyl bucket seats, console w/ Hurst shifter, door panels, kick panels, carpeting, everything is brand new and appears showroom fresh. All of the original gauges, lights, blinkers, cigarette lighter, AM/FM radio, everything functions perfectly as you would expect from a car of this stature. The White Vinyl Power Top works flawlessly, and goes up & down quickly and precisely. Again, this is one of the most perfect classic car interiors that I’ve ever seen in my life! In the beautifully restored trunk area you will find a new Firestone F70-14 Wide Oval tire along w/ correct jack assembly & crow bar. Open the hood and nestled inside the beautifully detailed engine bay you will find the original numbers matching Rocket 400/350hp V8 motor dressed in its factory correct colors, linked to the original numbers matching Muncie M20 4-Speed Manual Transmission, which feeds power to the factory original 10-Bolt rear end w/ 3.42 gears. All correct casting codes & partial VIN stampings are present on the motor & transmission. This gorgeous numbers matching 1968 Oldsmobile 442 Convertible drives & performs just as good as it looks! She starts, idles, runs & drives beautifully in every way, and has loads of power & torque! She is very fast, pulling hard through all four gears, and the Muncie M20 4-SpeedTransmission shifts smooth & precise just like a new car. The factory power steering is ultra-smooth, which makes driving around town effortless, and when you get her out on the freeway she tracks straight & true with no unwanted vibrations or rattles.
