Description for Oldsmobile 442 1971

1971 Oldsmobile 442 Convertible Four Speed with Factory Air Conditioning. This car has numerous W-30 options including the air induction hood, aluminum intake, W-30 striping and badges, aluminum rear end cover, red plastic front inner fenders. The car is also equipped with a tilt wheel and AM/FM stereo. It does have the gauge package and the air conditioning blows cold air. Power top is functional and is in excellent condition with no signs of wear. The paint is very nice with no evidence of any body work or panel replacement. All of the trim and bright work is nice as well. There are no rips or tears in the dash or on any of the seats. The cars runs and drives well with no issues. Plenty of power and performance comes from the 455 engine. Although not original to this particular 1971 Oldsmobile it did come out of a 1971 Oldsmobile full size wagon. The car had been repainted along with new seat covers and top all showing very nicely.
Some particulars about this car and the limited production. The VIN number is 344671M109824 Trim Code 977: White with Bucket Seats, Paint Code 43 A Lime Green with White convertible Top. Hurst Shifter Vehicle Build Code 09C Built the third week in September in Lansing Michigan. There were 7,589 442's produced in 1972 of that total 1,304 were convertibles. Break that down to the number of four speeds and factory air conditioning and I believe there to only an handful left.
Is it a true W-30? The current owner can not prove that it is. He is 73 years young and did not find the build sheet or any documentation. How much research has he done to locate it? I don't know. It is a true 442 and that in itself has value. He has enjoyed it and is soon relocating to Florida and does not want to take the car with him
The car is originally from Texas and is a rust free example of a low production muscle car that anyone would be proud to own, show and drive. He asked that I put a modest reserve on the car but is willing to entertain cash offers. If his offer is met he asked me to end the bidding and close the sale. As always I encourage anyone who is interested to look the car over or have someone look for you. The car is located about an hour from Pittsburgh. $500 deposit is required within 24 hours of the sale end and balance to be paid within 7 days. Buyer responsible for all shipping costs. He has a clear title in his name.
