This is a very cool car, it was bought new at Kirby Oldsmobile in Ventura, Ca by a college professor and he kept it till he died in 2014. It still sports it's original issue Ca plates UJX478 and we have most if not all of it's registration cards and the original protecto-plate and owners manual. The car was ordered with the 442 package, an optional M20 4 speed and accessory group 03100 which is power steering, power brakes and deluxe radio.
The car has been repainted in the original Laurel Mist and has had it's original vinyl roof replaced. It has never had any body work of any kind it is a superb rustfree body and all the sheet metal is original there is no rust underneath the car or under the vinyl top. The car has been left alone underneath it has not been cleaned even, it would be very easy to detail the engine bay and the underside but we decided to leave it to the new owner. The block is an original 390925E big block which is original to the car, the heads we know are not original but everything else on the car is, it even has it's original California only smog equipment. It has been rebuilt with new pistons new camshaft and rebuilt heads the bottom end has been rebuilt also the crank was reground and polished, the car now runs superbly it stops and steers great and overall the car feels truly bulletproof. The transmission makes no weird noises and shifts perfectly the clutch is brand new also. It is fitted with a 308 rear end so it cruises on the freeway nicely . It has it's original wheels with tires with less than 500 miles on them, The paint is good driver quality and looks great but this is not a show car it has been built to enjoy and drive. The interior is pretty much original except the front seats have been recovered the rear seat is original and in good shape. The dash is very good and the top has no cracks. the original black headliner is excellent too. The bumpers have been rechromed as have some small parts this was not a restoration more of a resurrection as the car had been sitting idle for some years.
This is a great and reasonably unusual muscle car that is in great useable condition has 350 hp and handles very well if driven hard it feels unbreakable. The brakes are power assisted drums that stop very well, the ride is firm and it's handling is quite surprisingly good .
