Description for Oldsmobile Cutlass 1972
Vehicle DetailsSave this awesome American icon from further deterioration. I'm a 71-year old car collector but has since been selling my cars because father time has caught up with me. After all, what's the point of attracting attention as you drive these cars when they see an old man on the driver seat. Here is a car that is a perfect project for a father and son/daughter slow rebuilt. Enjoy it as you restore. Let this be your gift to your 16-year old child. I used this car as a daily driver on short errands. It has a 350 cid engine, 4 bbl carburator, dual exhaust. The body needs some repoair such as 2 rusted holes at the rear corner bottom of the doors, a dent on the passenger side front fender, rust starting at the quarter panel wheel area, the vinyl top is starting to unravel, bubbles seem to be starting on the roof, the inside lip of the trunk has rust. The floor looks solid except for a small hole on the floor near the passenger side door sill and driver side trunk floor. There 2 small cracks at the 2 lower corners of the front windshield (not an inspection issue since the cracks are outside the sweeping area of the wipers). The top portion of the front windshield leaks on heavy rain. The photos show the clear paint has opened up in a number of areas exposing the base paint but overall the car retains its sporty, intimidating appearance specially with the 14" front wheels and 15" fat tires at the rear. Battery is 2 years old. Car starts right up with a couple of pumps of the accelerator. The front seats are new while the back seat is original. Carpet is relatively new. I own the car for 17 years and have no reason to believe that the engine was ever replaced. When I bought the car, I only have it tuned up and replaced the brakes and never had a major issue with it ever since. The air box is out of the car but will be included as part of the sale together with the original single exhaust manifold. Tires are old but useful. One of the rear light has a ground because of water infitration. I am including a new light socket. The hood latch is acting up, sometimes it latches sometime it doesn't. I may have missed some of the imperfections, after all it is a 50 year old car. some dings on the bumpers. Depending on the outcome of the auction, I may throw in a better looking rear bumper. Evrything els are shown in the photos. Please look carefully and ask questions. Final sale to the highest bidder. No return. I will only accept cash or certified bank check. Come and check the cAr if you are nearby. Good luck.
